Construct a line parallel to PQ and which passes through W.
a = 30° and b = 40°
y = a + b
   = 30° + 40°
   = 70°

Solution
Construct a line parallel to AB and which passes through K.
p + 135° = 180° *Interior angles*
                  p = 45°
      q + 145° = 180° *Interior angles*
                  q = 35°

                 z = p + q
                    = 45° + 35°
                    = 80°
