Chapter 1- The Best Summer Ever

***A/N: Just wanted You guys to know that this is just a short chapter to start the book off. Every other chapter after this will have more than 2000 words. <3

"Morgan!" My mom yells from downstairs.

"I'm up, Mom. I'm getting in the shower. Be down in a minute" I silently scream at her for waking me on a Saturday at 8:30.

I strip down in my room then reach over and grab my towel, I notice something move from the corner of my eye, I glance up and I see Xander grinning at me from his window across from mine. It takes me a second to realize that I'm completely naked, I squeal and grab my towel. I immediately wrapped myself up and shut my blinds. I am so embarrassed. I quickly make my way into the bathroom and I take a quick shower. After I get out the mirror is steamed up completely, I take my blow dryer and dry the mirror, I look myself up an down examining my features. I have long, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, a perfectly angled face, and caramel toned skin.

I threw on a plain blue tee shirt and some mid- thigh white shorts. Then I head downstairs to the kitchen where my mom is fixing coffee and making eggs. I give her a hug from behind and sit at the kitchen table, she seems to be rushed but I don't ask.

"Honey, I have to go to Florida. I-" I cut her off

"When?"

"Today sweetie, I'll be gone for a week at the least." She tells me very calmly.

"Why are you so calm? Why are you even going?"

"It's my job, I don't want to leave you here alone, but I have to go."

"Mom! You're gonna be gone longer than a week and you know it." I'm livid in this moment and my mom just sighs.

"I told the neighbors that you're here alone for a while, if you need anything let them know"

With that my mom rushes from the house, grabbing her bags on the way out. What a great start to a summer. I eat the food that my mom made with a glass of orange juice. I put my plate in the sink and I decide to go watch some TV. I grab a bag of tortilla chips and some salsa along with some mango juice. I go sit on the couch in the living room and put on the first season of empire. I usually missed it because I was trying to maintain my grades. So hey why not binge watch since it isn't coming back on for a few months. There was a knock at the door as I got comfortable. I groan and get up trudging over the door.

"Who is it?" I say opening the door. I see Xander standing there with a grin on his face.

"What do you want, seeing me naked wasn't enough?" It was just a glimpse, but I saw his cheeks redden, but a smirk quickly replaced it.

"No, it wasn't, but I'm here to see if there will be another show." A grin graced his lips... Ew, what am I thinking he's a total douche.

"Hello, Earth to Morgs?" Xander waves his hand in my face I immediately jump back a bit and grimace.

"No, there will be no more of me getting naked in my room. Thanks for the concern though." I spat at him with venom in my voice. Then I started to feel guilty, I swear I saw a glimpse of hurt in his eyes.

"I really came to see if you were okay. I heard you screaming with your mom." He says with a bit of concern.

"My mom is going to be in florida for a 'week.' She knows as well as I know she going to be gone for more than a week, she might be gone the rest of summer." I say as my vision starts to go blurry because of tears.

"Everything is going to be okay, I can be your company while she's gone?" He seems genuine but he's always been the type to toy around with every girl he meets.
