~A couple of days later~

I feel so groggy this morning--I barely got enough sleep last night! Mostly, I was watching Netflix until 4:30 and I zonked out. I'm supposed to go shopping later with my best friend Stacy at the mall. Now that I think about it, I don't want to do anything today! I need a nap or some coffee.

Stacy and I both met in our freshman year of high school. There was this one boy who ran into me on purpose. It was a few weeks into the school year and I had a strong start, except I was kind of a loner. The boy, on the other hand, was a football player who was really tall and muscular at the time, and he knocked me to the floor with my notebooks sliding everywhere. Stacy comes rushing over to gather all of my things and tells me about this so called guy who she thought was adorable at the time. He can be a douche sometimes, just ignore him, she said while picking up the last of my things. At that moment, I knew we would be best friends and we started hanging out ever since!

I jerk up suddenly as I'm awoken from my memories by my phone ringing obnoxiously on my nightstand, vibrating the heck out of it. Picking up my phone, the screen lights up with Stacy calling me. "Hello?" I ask tiredly, as I'm still trying to wake up.

"GIRL, it's me! Stacy!" She shrieked. I pull the phone away from my ear, just because I think I shattered my eardrum. That definitely woke me up this morning. I push my hair out of my face and calm down to respond.

"Hey what's up? I just woke up!"

"Sorry! But do you know what day it's going to be next Tuesday?" Stacy asked excitedly.

"Umm, duh! My birthday!" I said laughing. I can never get enough of Stacy. She's what keeps me going every day with her overly ecstatic attitude. I can be getting over a break-up and she'll make me feel better by buying me loads of ice cream and doing some task that involves either shredding or burning old pictures.

"Exactly!" She continues. " Which means that we need to go shopping! Like today!" She giggles.

"Okay, okay! Umm so if we go today, what time should we be going? I legit just woke up." I get out of my bed and pull the covers up as I bite my bottom lip and pace back and forth across my room.

"Hmm... Well, we can go at 2:30! It's almost 1:00 so it gives you plenty of time to get ready. I'll pick you up then. But be ready! The mall doesn't close until 5:30 on Sundays!" Stacy explained.

"Well if it closes at 5:30, there's no need to rush right?" I ask annoyingly.

"Come on, you're ruining my mood! The faster we go, we can do other things as well!"

"Alright, alright," I say, rolling my eyes.

"Haha, talk to you later!"

I hang up the phone and place it on my nightstand. Well, at least I have an excuse to get out of bed! I hurry over to my closet to pick out what I'm going to wear for today. Nothing too stylish, nothing too relaxed. I decided on a black crop-top with frayed shorts, white converse, and a purple kimono thingy. I really don't know what to call it so let's leave it at that, shall we? So, off to the hair. I just place it in a messy bun, taking a few strands out to frame my face. As I stand up and take a look in the mirror, I realize that I actually look kind of cute! You go, girl! It took about 30 minutes to get ready, so by the time I was done it only 1:30.

~An Hour Later~

I quickly grab my purse and my phone, run down the stairs, and make my way outside, to find Stacy's convertible waiting for me.

"You ready?" She asks, taking my purse and placing it in the backseat.

"Yeah," I said as I hurried into the front passenger seat. As we're on the road, Stacy can't stop babbling about my Sweet 16 party--The only party that really matters to a teenage girl. I've been looking forward to this party ever since I was twelve, so it has to be perfect! The theme colors I've always imagined were turquoise, silver, and black.

"It's going to be so much fun! And I already got you the best present!" She exclaims. After what seemed to be 15 minutes, we finally arrived at the mall. I got out of the car and tried to catch up with my best friend as she scurried through the parking lot.

"Wait... up!" I tried to say while catching my breath. "What's the hurry? We've got plenty of time!" I'm not in shape at all--Heck, I only work out at school when out P.E. teacher tells us to!

"I know! I'm just excited, that's all!" She waves her arm, motioning for me to hurry faster, but I had to stop for a moment to catch my breath. Who poured extra sugar in her Frosted Flakes this morning?

As we enter the mall, I am bombarded with tons of scents coming from Bath and Body Works. Mmm, smells soo good! My all-time favorite is Japanese Cherry Blossom! I've loved it ever since I was young, and I just had to run in and buy some, since I need some more lotion anyway.

"Hi, how may I help you?" One of the employees asks. She has dark brown curly hair and is arranging some perfumes and hand sanitizers on a display case.

"Thank you, I'm looking for the lotion scent Japanese Cherry Blossom."

"I've got some right here! I can ring it up for you if you'd like!" I follow her over to the cash register and I purchase my lotion. Stacy is in the background spraying ten types of perfume on the same arm.

"Stacy, what are you doing? I can smell you all the way from here!" I say grabbing the perfume tester out of her hand and placing it back on the shelf. "It's really strong."

"But, it smells good, right?" She asks, and I can't help but laugh. She can be a lot to handle sometimes.

We exit the store and stroll through the mall looking for a nearby dress shop."Alright, so it's a sweet 16 party.  What do you wanna wear?" Stacy asks.

"Hmm, I was thinking maybe like a cute dress or something. Nothing to fancy." I explain.

"Affirmative." Stacy agrees while she salutes. We hurry over to a dress shop made specifically for parties like Sweet 16's and all that jazz."Ooh, I like this dress!" Stacy exclaims as she brings the dress to me.

"Hmm, well can I at least see a mirror?" I ask grabbing the hangar. The dress is really pretty. It's a teal kind of color that reminds me of the beach. Its design is pretty, not too elegant but just the way I like it. It's not too pouffy either!I take the dress and find the closest fitting room. I find a saleswoman, then give her my dress and she shows me to an available room. Of course, Stacy follows behind.

"Hey what are you doing? Only moi gets to come in this room. You stay outside." I say.

"Yes Ma'am!" She takes my bag of lotion from me and applies lotion to the opposite arm from where she sprayed all of the perfume on.

I take off my clothes and hang them on a rack. I carefully take the dress off the hangar and slip it on."Oh my, this is gorgeous!" I say as I squeal.

"Let me see! Let me see!" Stacy asks.I open the door and the look on her faces makes me bust out laughing. Her eyes look like they're about to fall out of their socket as she admires the dress. Her mouth is wide open as well! "Whoa" is all she manages to say as I give a quick twirl around in my new dress. "You're getting that. Nothing else. You are getting that dress." She says in a monotone voice.

"Well don't worry, I definitely love this dress!" I do a quick twirl once again just to see how it looks.

"Alright then! Get out of it and put back on your clothes! EEP!!" I burst out laughing again!

"Okay," I smile.
