Beth Greene is a 26 year old sweet heart that still lives in the same place she grew up. Though Beth is one of the nicest girls you'll ever meet she has had her fair share of problems. All Beth wants to do is share her talent of singing with the world. She also wants to have a family one day and grow old with the father of her children. Those dreams almost seem impossible now.
Growing up in the same place you were born and still living there afterwards has it's advantages and disadvantages. One of her favorite advantages is also her least favorite disadvantage. Everyone knows everyone in that small town. Everyone sees Beth as the little farmer's daughter that still needs to be watched over. Just trying to find an apartment was hard since the landlord Jim didn't think she was ready but after hours of arguing she finally convinced him.
Beth works at her father's friend Dale's diner. She is the one of 3 waitresses there. That was really the only job she could get. Beth had to do online college since there was no colleges nearby and at the time she was afraid to leave, now that's all she wants to do. Even her father treats her like a baby. The only person in the town that sees Beth as an independent woman is Dale. He willingly let her work for him.
Beth was grateful of Dale. He helped her with her breakup with the boy he set her up with back in high school, he was there when Beth felt over pressured, he was more like a father then Hershel at times.
Right now Beth is in a relationship with Zach. She doesn't love him, she doesn't even like him. Her father set her up with him since he actually went away to college and had a good job at the bank. That's what Beth found charming in him. He was a new face, someone she didn't know. Beth soon later regretted ever agreeing to see him. Zach was nice at first but after only 3 days of dating he wanted sex and Beth refused. Since then he's been showing her who's boss. He doesn't hit her everyday but enough to make Beth question her decisions. The constant meaningless sex drives Beth insane. She'd rather be at work.
Daryl Dixon is a 31 year old redneck. He lives in the woods with his RV well Dale's RV. Daryl's mother died during childbirth and Daryl's father blamed it on him. Constantly abusing him every chance he got. Merle, Daryl's big brother, tried to stop it one day and then their father started whipping Merle just like he did to Daryl. Daryl would try running away and hiding in the woods from his life.
When he was 11 years old Daryl was leaning against the tree with a rope in his hands. He didn't know how to tie a noose but he was trying and that's when Dale stepped in.
-flashback-
Daryl's dad just left to go to the bar and Daryl didn't want to be there when he got back. He decided to go out in the woods and hide but on his way out Merle stopped him. "Where do you think yer goin' brudder?" Merle's southern accent was heavier then Daryl's and it stung his ears.
"Out." Daryl was short with him. At the time Merle was 17 years old and he towered over 11 year old Daryl. Merle scoffed and tossed his younger brother a rope. Daryl looked down at it confused and looked back up at Merle.
"You know what ta do. I ain't gonna be here if ya come back. I'm high tailin' bud. Don't want cha ta come wit me because it ain't a kids place where I'm goin'. The only person who can take care of ya is that prick God. Don't really believe in him but it's betta then nothin'. So pussy out this time brudder. I'll see ya on the other side." Merle walked out leaving Daryl standing there in tears clutching the rope in his hands.
He was going to do it. He ran outside but his brother was nowhere to be seen. He wanted to die anyways but he was afraid Merle would think of him as a pussy but he just gave him permission. Daryl couldn't go back to the house with Merle gone. That's a painful death sentence where this one could be quick and easy. No one would notice. No one would be around.
