I wonder if I will ever fit in,
but I know I won't.
I hear people laughing,
I didn't know that what I did was funny.
I see fingers pointing,
probably at me again.
I want to be understood,
is that too much to ask?

I pretend I don't hear them,
gossiping and spreading rumors.
I touch my ears as I cover them,
trying not to hear it.
I feel the tears running down my face,
don't they know how much it hurts?
I cry in the bathroom stall,
after hearing what they told everyone.
I worry about what people think,
but does it even matter anymore?

I understand everyone is different,
then why do I have to dress like her?
I say,"I'm fine," when I'm actually not,
but nobody cares anyway.
I dream that one day things will change,
hopefully that day comes soon.
I try to defend myself when they talk about me,
but all they do is laugh when I do.
I hope today will be different.
