Hidden In Shadows (Aaron X Reader)

New-found Ability

(Don't cue the music until I say to! This is needed for a part of the chapter and keep reading the parts that aren't in italics/bold- They are lyrics to this song :~: IMPORTANT NOTE: Bold is when Aaron sings, Italics is when Sirena sings.)

~Aaron's pov~

I held Sirena close to me. I think she was about to wake up, but that could've just been my imagination. Finally, after a while of walking, we were in front of the gates.

"Kyle!" Dante yelled. Immediately Kyle opened the gates.

We each ran through the gates. I stopped in my tracks when I heard a noise come from Sirena. I looked down. Sirena's face was buried into my chest. She groaned in pain and slowly, weakly opened her eyes. She looked at me and weakly smiled. I smiled back at her and she fell asleep. We ran to the tree house and laid her on a bed.

"I'll go find Zoey." Dante said.

"I'll find Lucinda." Laurance said.

"I'll go get Kawaii~Chan." Garroth said. With that they each nodded and went to grab the specific person.

I sat beside Sirena and grabbed her hand and held it. I looked around for something to do, until Dante, Laurance, and Garroth got back. My eyes locked onto a guitar sitting in the corner. I picked it up and tuned it. I started to sing a song that would encourage me to move on from what happened in the past.
(CUE DA MOOSIC)

I heard Sirena wake up and start singing with me. I smiled. She struggled to sit up, but she did.

I played the last note on the guitar and looked at Sirena who was smiling. Suddenly I heard clapping. I looked back and saw everyone in the village clapping and smiling.

"Sirena, that was amazing! I didn't know you could sing!" Laurance said, smiling.

"Aaron, where did you learn to play guitar?" Dante asked.

"I learned it from my dad." I shrugged. Everyone was complimenting us, when I noticed Sirena started to grab her head.

"Dante, Laurance, Garroth, come here." I motioned for them to come here.

Everyone else started to leave and Dante, Laurance and Garroth came up.

"I think something's wrong." I said as she started to breath heavily and rested her head on my shoulder.

~Sirena's pov~

You're useless, pathetic, weak. These words came through my head after I was done singing. I grabbed my head and then rested my head on Aaron's shoulder. I knew who was saying those things. Gene.

"I think something is wrong." I heard Aaron say.

"Gene...." I started but everything went black before I could finish.

~Dante's pov~

"Gene...." Sirena said before she fell unconscious.

"Gene won't stop until he gets his hands on Sirena. He's supposedly the next one to become the Shadow Lord, and to do that, he needs to marry someone who is beautiful and partially a Shadow Knight. She's both of those." I said, looking at Aaron.

"I thought Gene was dead." Garroth and Aaron said.

"Nope." I said. "That light that made them 'dead' actually just made them unconscious."

"I won't let that happen." Laurance said. "She's like a sister that I never had. But she was my girlfriend at one point, but that's beside the point. Gene and his Shadow Knights are here." Everyone drew out their swords.

"So, my little brother finally caught up to what was going on." Gene said, with a smirk on his face. Aaron had laid Sirena back down on the bed.

~Gene's pov~

"So, my little brother finally caught up to what was going on." I said, a smirk growing on my face. I noticed that Sirena was unconscious and laid on the bed. I started to walk to her. When I reached her beside, she was starting to wake up, and I smirked. "Attack them, while I talk to Sirena."

The Shadow knights all started to run at them. Sirena had sat up a little. She was looking down at the bed. I put my thumb and index finger under her chin and lifted it up. Our foreheads were touching at this point.

"What do you want, Gene?" She said angrily. I leaned into her ear.

"You know what I want, Sirena."

"Gene. Get off of me. I won't marry you."

"Sirena. You have no choice."

"I. Said. No. Go. Now!" She exclaimed. Flames started bursting from her hands and her eyes faded to a grayish blue.

"Fine. I'll find someone else. You win. I said, throwing my hands in defeat. "Stop fighting. We're leaving." They all stopped and followed me back to the Nether.

~Aaron's pov~

"Stop Fighting. We're leaving." I heard Gene say. Each Shadow Knight that was alive followed him back, leaving the dead ones to disappear. I notice Sirena's eyes where a faded grayish blue. I ran over to her.

"Sirena!" I exclaimed, grabbing her waist to help her sit up.

"A...Aaron?" She said.

"I'm right here." I said, moving a stranded of brown hair out of her face.

"I saved you, but not myself." She said her voice growing weaker every minute.

"Sirena. Don't say that." I said. "You saved us. You saved yourself and Phoenix Drop."

"A..Aaron?" She said.

"Yes?"

"I... I love you." She said.

"I.." I started.
