I walked out of the room and I heard sniffling.

"No, no, no please! Stop! I can't! Please! Make it stop!" The voice grew louder. Soon it let out a blood shilling scream.

I set off at a sprint, with each step the voice grew louder and louder, and soon, I reached the source

Curled up in a small ball, with tear stained cheeks and a grimace on her face was Cat.

"Please, please, please, please, please" she murmured over and over again. Another scream. Sobs wracked her body and soon she was on the floor, her knuckles white from holding her legs so tightly together.

I didn't know what to do so I slowly picked her up. Her small frame moved closer to me. Tears streaming down her face. I sat down in the chair she just fell from and set her in my lap.

Her screams turned into whisper yells and sobs into sniffles. Instead of murmuring 'please' she started to murmur 'it's done' and 'don't hit me'. My heart hurt to see her in this state.

I started to drift off to sleep when all of a sudden she moved. I froze where I was, unsure of what to do. A soft yawn left her lips as she moved so she was straddling me and her arms hung limply at round my torso. Her head settled in the crook of my neck. She murmured softly

"Protect me. Protect me from him" she sobbed as I felt wet tears on the back of my neck that made goosebumps appear on my arms.

Who was this guy she was scared of? I swear if I know him I will punch him so hard, calling it pain would be an understatement.

She continued to sit on me, softly murmuring and crying. I was about to fall asleep again when she started to move.

She awkwardly shifted her left leg over to my other side and then brought both of her legs up to her and started to murmur again

"Why did you leave me? Why won't you protect me anymore?"

She started to sob again curling up closer to me, her arms moving from my torso to my neck. Again and again she repeated this phrase. She started to break out in a cold sweat, her breath heaving at some moments and becoming shallow at other. I felt her head and she was burning up. Her hands stared to try and grope for something to hold. I put my sufficiently larger hand in her smaller one and she was tenderly squeezing it. Then she let go

But soon she stopped

No more murmuring. No more tears. No more sobs. Her body went limp. Her hand stopped moving. Her breaths seemed to cease.

I was terrified

A/N: I was like crying writing this. I love how sweet Quinton is to Cat. Even though the are both fictional characters that I made up, I still like it ☺️👏🏻👏🏻
