Chapter 1- Marco's Moment

"We are what?!" Marco Diaz shouted in the Diaz's tidy living room one day. It was a nice summer day outside, and school was over for now. Star stood beside Marco, not looking as concerned. Mr and Mrs Diaz stood smiling at the two, letting out the bad news.
"Moving! It's what people do when they want to live in a new house!" Mrs. Diaz cheerfully explained.
"I know what it means! But why are we doing it?!" Marco frowned. Star looked at him with confusion.
"Because! Me and your mother wanted to change up the scenery a bit!" Mr. Diaz laughed.
"That's so unfair! You didn't ask me for my opinion! I don't want to leave! I can't nod at Jackie Lynn Thomas anymore... What about all my friends?! We live right by a fire station! You know how dangerous fires are? What if we don't live be a fire station anymore!?" Marco rambled. But he stopped to think. "Where are we moving to?" He questioned.
"Oh! We are moving to a fun place in Oregon called Gravity Falls!" Mr.Diaz said, excitedly.
"Gravity Falls?! Seriously?!" Marco had heard about that place. It was in the middle of nowhere.
"Aw, come on, Marco! It'll be fun! We get to have friends in two places now! Plus, it'll be fun to see earth magic from a different cult!" Star beamed. This didn't help Marco.
"Fun for you. You think everything about earth is fun when really, this planet is a hazard waiting to happen." Marco finished and walked up to his room. Star watched him walk away.
"Heheh. Looks like Marco woke up on the wrong side of the bed today!" Mrs. Diaz said, still cheerful.
"Yeeeaaahh." Star sighed.
