NOTE: This is the basic script for the movie, meaning that it is not formatted in the correct way like a real movie script is. This is just for people to see basic things, such as the plot, the characters, and some of the visions for the final product. Feel free to criticize politely in the comments about things that could be changed, or suggestions about where the plot should go, what should the characters be like, et cetera, et cetera...

KERBALS

OPENING SCENE (Grasslands at the Kerbal Space Center (KSC) - NIGHT)

Begin playing the intro theme.

The scene opens with the camera facing up into the sky and away from the KSC. It is a clear and starry night on the planet Kerbin, and the Mün and Minmus are both bright and visible, casting their reflected rays onto the ground, lighting up the scene. The camera slowly turns around towards the KSC; the muffled sounds of Kerbals talking can be heard, but are unintelligible. The camera finally stops turning when facing the KSC, where it can now be seen that there is a massive rocket sitting on the launch pad, the metal glistening in the Münlight. The camera begins to move towards the rocket, and the Kerbal speech slowly becomes less and less muffled. It can now be heard that they are talking about final checks before launch. T-minus 20 seconds is heard, and the rocket begins to steam up as the engines are readied for ignition. The camera circles around the rocket; T-minus 10,9,8, ... ,1,0. The rocket makes a massive roar as it leaves the ground, and the sound of the Kerbals can barely be heard as it slowly leaves the ground, off into the sky. The camera trains on the rocket for a while, then starts moving back away from it fast, while still fixated on it. Quickly, the camera suddenly turns around, and we see that it has been backing up into the Mission Control Center at KSC. The camera flies through one of the windows, and shoots past multitudes of Kerbal engineers and scientists sitting at computers. The camera flies up to a balcony overlooking the engineers and scientists.

The camera now slows down, focusing onto WERNHER VON KERMAN (YOUNG) running towards some steps that lead down from the balcony into the computer pit below. He is profusely sweating, and has clearly been running fast for a while. He has a determined and desperate look on his face, and carries a clipboard with a myriad of papers clipped on. The camera follows WERNHER, moving from a front shot to a back shot, as he runs down the stairs, and through the maze of computers.

WERNHER (slightly out of breath):

Duke ... DUKE!
