Soon you come to an abandoned subway station, leading to the Lair you'd heard about.
It was very homey, and had basic everyday appliances and features, like a tv and couch, from what you could see. Then there were things that weren't typical for a home.
There was a dummy with various weapons sticking out, and an arcade game on the other side of the room, beside the dummy.
A spiral staircase was above the living room area, which you thought was pretty cool.
To your right there was a channel of water, with a tire swing, and what you thought looked like those Japanese paper windows, or whatever, behind it. Leo said that lead to the dojo, kitchen, and waterway entrance.
Past the arcade game was another entrance, going who knows where. You suspected it would've lead to the surface, but since this place was abandoned, it wasn't operational.
You wondered how the turtles got electricity to power all their things, but didn't ponder it for too long.
You walk in hesitantly, when Leo suddenly takes your hand and leads you to the dojo with the others in tow.
There was a giant tree inside, with a twisting trunk and green leaves, carpets on the floor, shelves and display cases holding either weapons or Japanese decorations, and a giant mutant rat a foot or two from the base if the tree, meditating, it looked like. There was light coming from the ceiling, and the place took your breath away.
Leo knelt down before the giant rat, gesturing for you to do the same, which you did, along with Donnie, Raph and Mikey.
"My sons, who is this?" The rat asked, not even opening his eyes. The only movement from him were his ears and tail, twitching slightly.
"Sensei, this is Y/n." Leo spoke, all the turtles smiling to you. Hearing your name, the rat opened his eyes, a chocolate brown like Donatellos.
"Ah, Y/n. It is nice to finally meet you. I am Master Splinter. My sons have told me much about you. But... you're older than I expected." He smiled, and you meekly smiled back.
"You will not tell anyone of our existence, correct?" He then asked, becoming stone cold serious. Your brow dipped in confusion.
"Why would I tell anyone about them? I just got them back, I don't want to hurt them!" You answered matter-of-factly, and they smiled.
"That is very true. I am sorry, it is a habit of mine. My sons seem to be making many human friends." Splinter replied, staring at his sons with a 'what's next, the rest of New York?' type of look while he spoke. You nodded and smiled, and Master Splinter dismissed you.
"So, Y/n, whadda wanna do? Read comics? Play video games?! Watch a movie?! Spar?!?! Meet Ice Cream Kitty?!?!?!" Mikey bombarded you with questions, so quickly you lost your balance and fell on the couch, next to Raph.
"Sup Peanut?" He smirked, and you blushed.
"M-maybe a m-movie?" You answered Michelangelo, and he nodded vigorously, running to get the crate of movies and videos. You sat next to Raph nervously, while he read a comic book. You thought for a moment, when something suddenly came to mind.
"Uh.. Raph?" You spoke, and he lowers his comic to lock eyes with you.
"Yeah?"
"Do.. can you still do.. phoosh?" You made a weird gesture with your hands, but Raph understood. You wanted to know if he could still make fire from his hands.
He snapped his fingers, and a single flame leaped up, it's heat casting warmth on your face. You beamed, remembering the old days, when Raph was literally on fire. But, in all honesty, you kinda liked him more in his turtle form.
Raph decided to kick it up a notch, and suddenly, his entire hand was covered in yellow flames, and he didn't even flinch.
"Pretty cool, huh?" He smirked, and you smiled, nodding.
"Kinda like back then, when I was little."
