True Beginnings

Chapter 1 Origins

Before there was Equestria far past the frozen north lied the kingdom some would consider parides. It seemed every season had come to meet in this one place to create a sanctuary. Fields of green spread out for miles that flowed directly to a lake so clear it seamed a piece of the sky had fallen to bask in the beauty. The trees grew tall and bloomed with leaves of every color. Creatures of all kind shared these land but the most regular of them all were the majestic alicorns. Each filled with unbelievable magic. Each shining like a thousand suns. One in particular truly did shine like the sun. Her name was Galaxia and she was the true essence of light herself. As fate would have it she fell in love with a the essence of darkness Cosmos and together they had become the king and queen of the alicorn race. They had built a kingdom that flourished with everypony working as one to bring peace and harmony.

On the bordering side, a fairly large river divided the kingdom from another nation. As the river went further down it slowly turned from crystal clear to a little brown color. The water became thick and creamy. At first site you would think it was mucky water but those brave enough to try it would come to learn that it was nothing more than chocolate milk. That was only one of the oddities of the draconequus nation. Where the alicorns maintained balance, the draconequus loved all forms of chaos. Nothing was where or what is should be and that was to be intended. The draconequus was a unique race where not one looked like the other. The were made of all different kinds of animal parts. The king and queen here ruled quite differently. The dark king Erebus ruled with an iron claw. He made sure that his people we prosperous and happy but any outsiders where to be untrusted. The good queen Radiance disagreed with her husband. She felt that all creatures had good in their hearts. Even with his wife's constant speeches of kindness the dark king refused to listen. He felt that because they were so different in nature that the would be hunted down by other. Because of this the draconequus race were lead to a life of seclusion.

The king and queen had been the only ones to meet outside creatures. With the alicorns bordering it would only be time before both rulers would have to meet. When that day had arrived Erebus made it clear that he and his people did not want anything to do with the alicorn race much to Radiance's protest. Queen Galaxia tried her best to change Erebus's mind but to no avail. Cosmos agreed to Erebus's request leaving both queens unhappy. Once the draconequui had left queen Galaxia begged her husband to reconsider this new treaty. She was convinced that if they did not try to make the dark king understand that their differences could be pushed aside, then the kingdoms could meet a deadly fait. Cosmos wanting nothing more to do with this issue only stated that pushing the issue even more would cause even more of an issue. As long as they stayed away everyone would be safe. Because of this new law both kingdoms slowly began to build animosity towards one another with each believing that one was better than the other. Both Galaxia and Radiance watched with heavy hearts as the kingdoms they once knew became shrouded in a dark cloud of hate.

It wasn't long before both nations would give birth to an air to the throne. The alicorns were graced with the beautiful young princess whose coat glimed the color of snow and main that was a soft pink like the flowers in the valley. The draconequui celebrate at the young prince's birth. Discord had parts from both parents such as his lion paw and dragon foot. For the first time in ages both kingdoms had lost the darkness and had been filled with joy and hope. Both royals had agree to meet for the first time since the treaty. They had exchanged gifts and shared a feast fit for gods. Not long after the second princess was born tho the alicorns. Her name was Luna and unlike her sister her coat was a somewhat dark blue color and her main was a soft blue. Her appearance resembled that of the night sky during the summer. Both princesses had come out to be just like their parents resembling the night and day. At the time of luna's birth the draconequus nation had decided to throw a party in her honor. It truly had seemed that both were beginning to live in harmony. As great as life had become all good things must meet their end. Just as the great Erebus had begun to break down his walls a tragedy happened that would forever change history. The great war of power would soon begin.
