Tired of being criticized by my friends and acquaintances for not
believing in God and never talking to “him”, I decided to invite “him”
for a chat. The almighty showed up, listened to me, and answered some of my questions. Ullisses = U - God = G
U – God, are you there?
G – Yes Ullisses, what is it that you desire?
U – I’ve got to talk to you.
G – But you don’t believe in me, Ullisses.
U – That’s true, I don’t believe in you, but the vast majority believes.
Ardently.
G – That is right, indeed, Ullisses. And that worries me very much.
U – Worries you? Why?
G – It does worry me because mankind blindly believes in my
presence. Many affirm that faith is blind and shall not be discussed.
U –True, I’ve heard that. People say men are not supposed to discuss
religion. Do you agree with that?
G – Most certainly not! The human being is endowed with a very
powerful brain, which differentiates from other animals. If an
individual believes in me only because some person tells them to do
so, he or she becomes a trained animal who makes everything that, to
him, is taught, like an obedient little dog.
U – So you think that many people believe in you just because they
grew up with a religious background that compels them to believe in
you?
G – Correct. That can be easily proved. Pay attention. “Hattori”, who
was born in Japan and is Buddhist. But “Kalef”, who was born in Riad,
is Muslim. “Da Silva”, born in Rio de Janeiro, believes in Jesus Christ.
“Janaína”, born in Xingu, believes in some gods and entities of the
Forest. And wherever you go, my son Ullisses, you will realize that
there are various different Gods in various different religions, all of
them as a social/cultural that is practically imposed by the ambient in
which the individual grows and plants their seeds.
U – What do you mean by that?
G – That religion is nothing more than a social/cultural factor imposed
to the citizens.
U – But people already know that, don’t they?
G – No, they do not. Watch the everyday examples. People believe in a
certain religion, do not tolerate others and believe, in fact, that their
doctrine is correct. If this was a true fact, Xintoists would be correct
and Catholics wrong? What about the Animists, are they less correct
than the Muslims? If only a single religion is correct, what happens to
the others? Are they a set of group hypnosis? Or merely a waste of
time?
U – But what if all religions are correct?
