Meeting Him.

I was sitting in my room feeling heartbroken. I could feel a thick cloud of sadness settling in my chest. I was reading all of the notes my ex-boyfriend gave me on random occasions. They were cute but I pushed those thoughts aside because he's not cute or sweet to me anymore. He changed to a cocky jerk over time. I took a shaky breath in and slowly unfold the last one. It said:

Dear Mina,
You are so beautiful and I wish I could hold you every second of everyday. You are the light of my life and I hope I get to live long enough to see your beautiful face when I wake up in the morning. I love you.

I groaned and put the note down, he was always so dramatic. All the notes he wrote to me were like that, it made me wish he never changed, and it made miss the old him.  But my self pity turned to anger burning in my stomach. How could he do this to me?
He told me all the time I was his one and only until he cheated on me with Mackenzie a stupid slut that made out with my best friends crush.
I checked the time with a sudden thought. "9:43" I sighed and pulled on a light jacket and converse. I didn't care about the time, my parents were asleep. I wanted to watch those godforsaken notes to burn.
I grabbed the lighter off my kitchen counter, and quietly exited the house. I walked down the street and went to a lonely metal trash can and took out the first note and lit the lighter. The orange flame slithered down the paper, heat warmed my hand causing my to drop the note in the trash can. I took out the next note and watched it do the same, crumbling to black ash.
I got mesmerized by the flames developing the notes, I completely forgot my surroundings. Someone's shadow came into view and snapped me to reality.
"That's a little dangerous don't ya think?" A deep voice says behind me. I jolted at the voice interrupting my serenity.
I looked up from the flames and saw a very cute teenage boy that had light blonde hair, gorgeous brown eyes, and towered over me.
"I guess you can say that." I said bringing my attention back to the burning paper.
"What are you burning anyways?" He asked. He's oddly inviting for a complete stranger. Hopefully he's not secretly planning to murder me.
I tried to find a way to tell him you were burning your ex boyfriend'a stupid love letter without sounding like a psycho. "I-uh... Umm." I stutter not wanting to tell him.
He picked up the last note and quickly skimmed it. "Wow." He burst out laughing at the note. "That's cheesy. Jerk boyfriend?" He asked before plopping next to you on the sidewalk.
"Yeah, we didn't exactly work out." I tried to say nonchalantly as possible. He handed me the paper and I just stared at it in deep thought.
"Let's take a walk? To take your mind off things?" His face changed once he realized we just met. "I mean, uh... If that's okay?" He stuttered awkwardly, which was kinda cute in a way.
I laughed at how awkward he was, but awkward in a way that makes you want to ruffle his hair and tell him to relax. "Sure, I'd like that." I said grinning stupidly. He smiled and "Okay."
"You know I never got your name." He said shoving his hands in his pockets. "Mina." I said "And yours?" "Charlie."
