"Fine," I admitted defeat. It was true, I would over think about everything and when I had enough I would seek for Sally's help.
(After telling her the whole incident with Chris)
"OMG are you saying you flirted with Chris." Sally asked shocked.
"I did not flirt." I said annoyed as I crossed my arms.
"You so did," Laughed Sally as she pulled my cheeks "Myra's growing up."
I smacked her hands away from me and touched my cheeks where she pulled them from. "Ouch, leave my poor cheeks alone."
"Stop being dramatic, so did you check your messages for his response." Sally asked excitedly as she pulled her chair closer to me.
"Erm, No." I muttered
"Why not?" She smacked my arm with the back of her hand.
"Ouch again." I puffed out as I rubbed my arm.
"Well you deserve that, now go get your laptop I want to see the response." She rubbed her hands in excitement.
"Stop acting bossy," I pointed out.
"Go now." She pointed at my room.
I glared at her as I stomped my way to my room. I opened the door and felt the cold air sweep through the open window. I felt myself shudder due to the bitter air, I walked towards the window and shut it closed. The weather seemed beautiful outside but I guess it was chilly. I walked in the direction of my bed and picked up my laptop and went out to Sally.
"Here you go, are you happy?" I hissed.
"Yes, I am happy, thank you." Smirked Sally.
I rolled my eyes at her and switched on my laptop, while I waited for the damn screen to come up I looked up towards Sally. I analysed how she sat there dejected as she played around with her food, her hair has out grown its usual hair style and her eyes, once burned brightly with happiness and love was now replaced by cold sadness and rejection. I looked down to see my screen was on but I was helpless to type anything, I looked up at Sally again and couldn't help but feel like I was a bad friend not realising she still hasn't moved on from her past. The way she smiled and laughed around us has even fooled me until I looked at her closely and saw the small little details that indicate she's not okay.
"Are you going to start typing anytime soon?" She questioned.
I gave her a small smile "Yeah." At that moment I didn't wanted to talk to her about Chris, I wanted her to talk to me about herself. I took a deep breath "Sally," I mumbled quietly.
"Hmm?" She said as she played around with her food, like she was miles away from here.
"What's wrong?" I asked unsure, I didn't really know how she was going to react.
That question made her look at me curiously. She stared at me like I said something stupid but she cleared her throat and answered "Nothing," with a small smile at the end. I narrowed my eyes at her, did she think her small smile going to make me think she was perfectly alright when she clearly was not.
"Is this about-" I didn't even have a chance to finish my sentence when Sally jumped up from her seat "No don't say it!" She cried out.
I looked at her shocked it was evidently clear she wasn't really over her past but before I could say anything Sally shook her head and begged, "I don't want to talk about it and all I want to do is just forget it. Please do not talk to me about this again!" She looked at me with a sorrow expression which broke my heart, I wanted to say something, anything to make her feel better but instead, I nodded my head.
"Will you show me his response now?" She asked impatiently wanting to change the subject.
I gave her a small smile, "Yep, just hold up." I logged on and gave my laptop to Sally. "Here you go, I don't even want to look at it." I said as I hid my face in my hands.
"Fine you big baby." She jested.
"I am not a baby." I muttered behind my hands.
"Now let's see the response." Sally spoke to herself. After a few seconds or minutes later I heard Sally scream "OMG!"
My heart started to beat uncontrollably fast, what did Chris write? Did he write something mean or nasty? Yeah he definitely would cause that is the Chris I know. I peeked through the gaps of my fingers, "What did he write?" asking with curiosity.
Sally looked at me with her mouth open, obviously shock clear on her face. She quickly snapped out of her state and looked at me amusedly, "Myra, you so need to see this," She giggled.
I took my hands away from my face and groaned, "I have a feeling I shouldn't."
Sally giggled again, "Oh trust me Myra, you really need to see this." She emphasized on the word 'really'.
I took a deep breath and started to walk towards my laptop, I knew the distance between me and my doom was about few steps but those few steps felt like eternity as my heart beat faster than a train. My mind swirled with so many questions that I started to get a headache, I continually chanted in my mind that 'I need to calm down.' Once I reached my destination, I was dreading to look at the screen; I took a gulp of air and looked down at my laptop. These few little words made me gasp in shock and knocked me down to my knees as I looked at the screen with fear and nervousness. Those words at that moment just made my world spin upside down.
