Although it was grey with a hint of scattered baby blue, Autumn imagined the sky to be pastel purple.
Not the purple on my shoes, she reminded herself as she looked down at the indigo sneakers. Easter egg purple!
Her mother grasped her hand as they walked across the neighbourhood street. A small picnic was being held at the neighbourhood's park, and Autumn had been invited.
With the Easter egg purple sky above her head, she watched a green dragon. Though it breathed fire, it was the friendliest of them all.
Autumn kept the fast pace with her mother, making sure not to trip on the cracks under her small feet.
Lava was spooling from the cracks, trying to catch Autumn's feet with their warm, melted hands.
"We're almost at the park, Autumn," her mother looked down at her. Her eyes swam in green, the colour that Autumn loved the most.
With the colourful trees in the distance, Autumn saw a unicorn come prancing out from the bushes. It's coat was shiny white and it had a braided white mane and tail.
It's horn glowed with a soft turquoise and it's pink eyes looked straight into Autumn's.
She started to walk faster than her mother, pulling her hand.
Her foot stepped over the curb and into the park's territory.
Territory... Autumn reminded herself. She saw the rustling of bushes in front of her and the amber eyes of a wolf.
She smiled, for she knew that they would not hurt her.
Her smile from ear to ear beckoned them from the bushes, and three came trotting out of the leaves. Autumn took note of how soft their fur was as she ran her fingers through it. Their ears were pulled back by the stroke of her soft hand.
A girl's yell from behind her made the wolves turn and cower back in the bushes.
Autumn tried to sooth them with her voice, but the other girl was too close.
"Autumn!" the girl came over. It was Samantha with the blonde hair and the brown eyes. "We have cupcakes."
Autumn smiled and followed her friend. Her mother let go of her hand and watched her clumsily walk over to the picnic blanket that laid on the rough grass.
