"Fuck you all."

"Whoa Rob."

"I'm sick of this fucking shithole," I growl, glaring at the women around me.

"Calm the fuck down, girl. You can't take them all on," my closest friend here, Cass, says.

"Bitch, yes I can," I retort.

"Best you apologize, Robin Hood," Alex says, tilting her head to the side, her black hair swaying.

"Just apologize and get it over with," Cass mutters, and I glare at her.

"Shut up, Cass," I snarl, looking to Alex again.

"If you really think I'm going to apologize for something you did, then you're crazier than I thought, bitch."

"I'm not the one in here for life," Alex retorts, and I snort. Her smugness irritates me to no end.

"Well, at least I'm not making a big deal out of dropping my lunch on the floor?" I laugh, my voice going up at the end as I realize just how ridiculous this whole situation is.

I raise my eyebrow at her as she responds, "You made me drop it."

"Oh please. You bumped into me. You have glasses, but you're still blind as a fucking bat."

"What is going on here?" A guard comes toward us. His buzzcut makes him look tougher than he actually is.

"She bumped into me!" Alex immediately says, pouring on that I-am-a-victim tone like salsa on chips.

I roll my eyes, and the guard notices.

"That's not how you see it?"

"She bumped into me, then demanded I apologize. Logic," I respond, running a hand through my red hair.

"Both of you just apologize and get over it. This isn't high school, ladies," he groans. This time, he's the one to roll his eyes.

"Fine. Sorry," I tell Alex curtly, resisting the urge to add a sarcastic "love" at the end.

"Sorry," she replies, narrowing her eyes at me. She spins around and stalks out of the cafeteria, leaving the rest of us staring after her.

"God, she's such a drama queen," I groan, glancing to Cass.

"You need to stop being so aggressive, Rob," she tells me, a concerned look on her face.

"That's how I am," I respond with a shrug.

"Well, you shouldn't be going around starting fights all the time," she says softly, as if she's afraid I'm going to start a fight with her, next.

"True. Won't last," I respond, raising my hands in defeat.

"Exactly," she says, a relieved look on her face.

I glance toward the guard just leaving, and I look to Cass again.

"I won't be here for long, anyway," I smirk.

"What do you mean?" Cass asks, genuinely confused.

"Oh sweet, naïve Cassie," I sing-song. "You'll see."
