Ride

Chapter 1

"Cam Knicks?" The sub practically fucked up my last name. You'd think she'd pronounce it correctly, since the phonics wasn't hard.

"Here" I said roughly and raised my hand.

She continued down the list and once she finished the attendance Ashanti took it to the office. I found Ar'Ron, Marquis, and Edwin in the back of the science room and that's immediately where I went to sit.

"Wassup Cam!" Ar'Ron said and I slapped Marquis' neck when he called me a nigga bitch. Edwin just silently acknowledged my presence by a head nod and continued back to texting.

We continued talking about random ass shit and laughed when Edwin blew off questions about his relationship with my baby sister. The bell rang and all of us left the room for lunch. We had to take the long way since Sophomores aren't allowed in Freshman, Junior or Senior halls. The high school sucked major ass. The big word "Kankakee" spray painted on the interior.

The cafeteria was crowded but I managed to find Marlesia along with her new friend Naja. "Mar, Edwin here."

"Okay.. And?" She rolled her eyes at me and continued joking with Naja. I wanted to snatch her up in the middle of the room but decided against it.. No need for a sibling brawl.

I watched as Edwin came behind Marlesia and wrapped his arms around her waist. Her face turned a red color and she turned to peck his cheek. He walked away and Marlesia got in line for her food. I was right behind her. "Marlesia, so you and Edwin?"

"Yeah..What about it?" She gave me a weird side eye.

"Nothing it's just he's older."

"So are you."

"Yeah, well I'm your brother."

We talked lightly on the subject of her and my one of my bestfriends but nothing enough to piss her off.

When me and Marlesia walked back to the table, there was Allison with her hands all over Edwin shoulders. Marlesia eyes darkened a little bit and she also got tense but she quickly shook it off and sat down right across from them. I noticed how it was silent. And with my baby sister silence means 1 of 2 things. She either was really sad or pissed off.
By the look in her eyes I can tell shit it gonna go down.
    Honestly I expected for Marlesia to go off on and Edwin and whoever the broad was all over him.  But she simply ran out with tears streaking down her face with Edwin behind her.
        I walked up to Allison about to bake her when this big Mexican ass nigga named Ernesto came in my face.
     "Can I help you nigga" I asked
  "Yeah you can get away from my girl"

"Nigga Gtfo my face don't nobody want that thot "
  I walked away but was greeted by a sharp jab to my face. This nigga snaked me. I turned around and started swinging. I saw my niggas ArRon, Marquis, and DJ come out the cut and start fighting with me. After all they are my niggas.

   ArRon played basketball, one of the star players on the sophomore team along with me Marquis and DJ he was more cool and layed back but if anybody fucked with him and\or his homies he wasn't hesitant to fight.
     DJ he played basketball also one of the star players. Is any one came at his homies it was over he was probably the strongest in the group. Had been to jail once already.
       Marquis the one in the group who didn't talk a lot unless he was talking to his homies basketball player. Had a history of fighting.
       Me, Cam Knicks I'm a basket ball player I wear number 2 on my back I'm also never hesitant to fight but I tried to avoid it because I hated it. But if anyone can at me, my homies, or my baby sister I guarantee that I'm gone fight.
        The first one over was DJ he threw a punch and connected with the one of his homies temple and he was out cold. I swung at Ernesto and he dodged and swung I ducked and uppercutted him. He stumbled back and came hurtling at me with his fist balled. But out of no where Edwin stuck Ernesto in his lip. Ernesto got mad and started swinging carelessly.
     Marquis ran up and slammed him and ArRon got on top of him and knocked him out. I poured some water on his face and he woke up.
     "Don't mess with my homies nigga because we all gon ride" and with that we walked out of the lunchroom.
