"So down this hallway you can see another school that we are sharing this building with" the principal described while pointing a finger towards a dark hallway with white lockers. I could feel both her gaze and my new kindergarten teachers gaze on me as we moved along the whole school, each time with the principal informing me about every place of the school. I felt the need to crawl back into my corner and just hide away from reality. But as I neared my new classroom, I feared to make a fool out of myself.
The school itself seemed like a normal school, walls made out of bricks, with the colour dark brown and double door to every room, though that was just the building for those who were older than me. I had to go to another building near by, just across the street to get to my class and the kindergarten playground.
As we moved along the path to the other building, I shivered from the cold wind connecting to my bare arms, and annoyingly I had to move my fingers through my hair so that it didn't bother my eyesight.
"Are you ready to meet your new classmates, Amelia?" the teacher asked and all I did was nod, but I couldn't believe that I have to go to a room filled with people that I don't even know. So the nervousness were really trying to eat me alive right there and then. She simply just looked ahead of here and then it all came to me like a bucket of cold water, I need to take a grip on my life and deal with what to come.
As Roxanne, the teacher opened the doors to my petite figure and little form, I took a hold of my summer dress like I were ready to kill anything in my way. But for now I just needed to make it out alive. Suddenly I felt a supporting hand on my spine, pushing me forward into the room filled with awestruck girls, circling around a carpet in a ring. I could feel the tension in the air as every single eye landed on me.
"Hello everyone and welcome to this years kindergarten building!" Roxanne cheered as she applaud her own speech. "We are all super happy today because we get to know each one of you here"
Everyone looked at each other, one to another and then opened to their mouths to start talking, only to be stopped by the yelling from the other room, making us look towards the room with questioning stares.
"Oh, dot mind them, they are just the boys that are going to start in this building this year too, please introduce yourself for one another" Roxanne reassured us and we relaxed, though I didn't know how to start introducing myself to these new people.
"Hi" a shy but pretty girl said, letting her golden locks fall freely on her back while she smile. "My name is Natasha, but you can all call me Nat, and I like to eat cupcakes all day, from the pink ones to the yellow ones"
Her eyes twinkled as she looked at everyone while introducing herself. Next to her sat a girl with two teeth stuck out, covering her under lip, and at first I really just wanted to scream MONSTER and run out of there but knowing my teacher, I wouldn't even dare to open the door where the boys are, let alone walk home when I don't even know where I live.
"Hello everyone, my name is Kiara and I'm 6 years old, and I love to play with animals" she said and gave us all a small wave then turned her gaze towards the carpet, suddenly more interested in the carpet than us. Everyone after that started to introduce themselves and as I felt the end coming, I knew that it was my turn to introduce myself.
"Hi, I'm Amelia, 6 years old..." I started of with saying as I played with some strands of my hazel brown hair and then continued. "And I'm here today as a friend and someone that loves to paint and decorated cakes" I finished of cheerfully and received a smile from everyone of them.
"Okey guys, now that you all know each other, why don't we move along to the other room so that we can meet the other part of the class" Roxanne clapped her hands once and then stood up, with us doing the same thing after. And as she opened the door to the girls I stood paralysed in place as my eyes landed on the cutest boy ever. His hazel brown eyes together with his boyish black hair style, made him look like a total badass, and as he talked, the only thing I could hear was his voice and only that. With Natasha and Kiara behind me trying to look at what I was so focused on, I immediately snapped out of the daydream I had of him and took quick steps towards an empty seat.
"Okey guys and girls, my name is Roxanne and this teacher next to me is Lisa" she said and nodded her head towards Lisa, showing her that she could continue.
"And today we just wanted each one of you to socialise with each other and become friends, so we're going to let everyone run freely inside this building and when food is done we'll gather around to eat" as she stood up and left everything seemed to slow down. The quietness bugged not only me but the others so they wanted to move to another room to discover something that they've not seen before.
"So where are you from?" Natasha asked as she started pulling my hair up to a ponytail.
"I'm half Asian and European, european from my mothers side and Asian from my dads side" I explained and smiled with Natasha. She just seemed like a sweet girl.
