"hey baby, I miss you" I say to the phone. " I got to go but I'll talk to you later okay, daddy loves you" I say to my daughter Royalty.

I hang up the phone.
I'm about to head out to my concert that I got to be at by 6:00 and right now it's 5:25. I put on my outfit that I had laid out on my hotel bed earlier. I walk inside the bathroom and look at the mirror. Once I'm satisfied with my appearance, I grab my phone and head out to my homeboy Shawn hotel room.

I knock on the door and wait for him to answer it. I hear foot steps coming to the door. Shawn opens the door.

"aye you ready?" I ask him.

"yeah" he says.

There's an awkward silence. I can't look Shawn in the eyes right now. We had the most awful and crazy conversation last night. I never thought I would ever have a conversation with him like that. With anyone.

"you know what time the limo getting here?" Shawn asked closing the door.

We walked down the hall towards the elevator.

"it should be here now" I say looking at the watch that I'm wearing on my wrist. "cuz it's 5:30 right now and it's going take less than 30 minutes to get there".

"I hope there's no traffic, because New York is very busy" he says.

"yeah" I say not really paying any attention to what he just said.

I tweet a message on my twitter.

On My way to tonight's show. Who gonna be there?

"your always on your phone. You should pay more attention to--" he stops his sentence.

But it's too late. I know what he was going to say. To pay more attention to him.

The awkward silence comes back. I pushed the elevator button and wait for the automatic doors to open up.

I glance at Shawn. He's looking down at his own shoes. Man I wish everything between us will go back to normal. The elevator doors open and I walk inside the elevator but Shawn doesn't.

I hold the elevator doors open before it closes.

"what are you doing come on" I say.

"Imma take the stairs" he says.

"no, don't do all of that" I say grabbing his arm and pulling him into the elevator.

I think I pulled him too much because now he is right in front of me. Our noses barely touching.

I look at his light brown eyes. I never noticed how brown they were.

"oh my God Chris wait up" someone says.

I look behind Shawn. I see a girl running towards the elevator. She slips in before the door closes.

I quickly let go of Shawn.

"can I please take a picture with you?" she ask.

I nod my head.

She takes a phone out of her back pocket. She leans on me and takes a few pictures of us.

"thanks so much. My friends are going to be so jealous" she says.

"no problem" I say laughing.
