Chapter 1 ; The Deal.

Crap.

I'm so broke. I need a job. I just got out of college and I don't know what to do next. I'm not really the one to work. I've never worked in my life. My parents were rich so I'm used to getting everything I wanted. I would like to keep it that way, maybe I should marry some nerd with a lot of money?

If you can't already tell I'm a gold digger. Yes I'm ashamed, I'm a really good girl except dating someone for their money. But hey, I live a good live that way.

Until now.

My parents wouldn't give me any money. They said I had to make my own money and work for it. That's why I went to college to have a better chance at a better job, which meant better money. Trust me, I wouldn't have gone to college if my parents just gave me all the money I needed. But I guess it wouldn't be that hard to get a job, would it? I mean it's not like I'm stupid. I got average grades in high scho-

My thoughts were cut off by my mom. "Hun don't forget to look at jobs tomorrow!!" She yelled from downstairs.

"Ugh! Mom I won't forget." I wished I could forget about it. Its going to be a long day tomorrow. Great. I decided to head to bed. I took off my shirt and pants then threw on a baggy shirt and jumped into bed. I let out a long sigh and grabbed my phone from my desk and saw I had 2 messages. Like I thought they were both from my best friends. Lexi and Mason. I was closer to Mason because I've known him longer. I taped the message and looked at what it said;

Mason:So you know the money problem you have?

I rolled my eyes and replied.

Me: Yes, what about it?

While I waited for him to reply I decided to text Lexi back.

Lexi: Hey Nicole, whatcha doing tomorrow?

Me: Looking for a job. Yay.

I didn't even have a chance to put my phone down before it buzzed telling me I had a new message. I looked at the caller ID and it said Lexi, I read what it said;

Lexi: Sounds fun ;) Could I come over and look for jobs with you though? Because my parents are only giving me two weeks to have a job and be moved out. Two weeks!!

Me: Yeah you can come over. See you tomorrow?

Lexi: Okay. See ya!

I put my phone down and signed. Lexi's parents were doing the same thing as my parents. Both are patents are close so my parents told her parents and now we are both stuck having to work.

I heard my phone buzz. It was a text from Mason;

Mason: Well I was at this crazy college party last night and it was at some rich college. So anyways I met this really rich single guy and thought of you. Nice of me huh? ;) so he gave me his number for you. That means you don't have to work.

Me: Omg thank you! You're a life safer. What's his name?

Mason: Um I think Daniel Smith. Yeah that's it.

Me: Okay, I'll message him. Night!

Before he could reply I put my phone down and grabbed my laptop. Once I logged onto Facebook I looked up Daniel Smith. His account popped up and I took a look at his profile. He was good looking. Like a school boy kinda cute. He had curly dark brown hair with dark brown eyes as well. It also said he was just 24. He was three years older than me, which I like. I went through his news feed and one of his post said he had one more year of college until he could be the doctor he wanted. I sent him a friend request. It didn't take long before he excepted it. He sent me a message just a few minutes later saying 'hello'. I replied saying ' hey :)'.

Daniel: Your friend Mason talked a lot about you last night. You sound pretty interesting.

Nicole: Maybe I am.

Daniel: I'd like to find out my self. Wanna go for a movie sometime?

Nicole: Sure. How about tomorrow?

Daniel: Sounds like a date. :)

With that I logged off. Well that was easier than I thought. Mason had to have said good things about me for him to be that interested. I needed sleep. The seconded I closed my eyes I was dead asleep.

I felt someone poking me in the cheek waking me up from my dreamless sleep.

Poke.

Poke.

Poke.

"Okay, I'm awake. No more need for the poking." I said opening my eyes . I looked up to see Lexi smiling down at me, her bright brown eyes filled with joy.

"Finally! I've been waiting for you to wake up so we could look for jobs." She grabbed my laptop and sat next to me in my bed.

We spent the next three hours looking for a job. Everything was not what we wanted. I was just about to quiet. When something caught my eye. It wasn't a job I saw my self doing when I was a kid. I actually hated the thought of having to have this job. But for some reason it was calling me.

A teacher.

I looked over at Lexi and smiled. She was watching tv. She had giving up about an hour ago.

"Lexi. I think I found the job I want. Come look." Her eyes left the tv and found its way to the computer screen. She start to laugh. I rolled my eyes and waited for her to stop. Once she had stopped laughing she looked over at me smirking and said "Good one. You wouldn't last a week teaching some bratty kids!"

"Well maybe I could teach older ones. Maybe high school. It can't be that hard." She laughed at me again. "You really think I can't do it can you?" I said.

"Nope" she said popping the 'p'.

"How about this, I'll take the job. If I last two weeks then you have to work there too. If I don't then I have to do any job you want, k? "

"Okay, deal!" She smiled showing all her teeth.
