Vriska had been expelled. Again. She wasn't totally at fault, that jerk was totally asking for it, but even so. As a sophomore she knew she probably shouldn't have been starting her second semester at her ninth high school.
Because of her, her mother and sister had been forced to relocate state to state three times now. Now this place was different, there seemed to only be two school districts in the whole area, so she had to be more careful.
She walked down the side of the street towards Alternia High with her head down in hopes her sister wouldn't notice her as she passed in her car on her way to her new college. The guilt swelled up inside of her but she was very good at hiding it when people were looking. With a binder pressed hard against her chest, she looked up slowly and took a deep breath, continuing fine until a football came flying and clocked her right in the head.
"Great job, John. You managed to hit a helpless girl." The blonde came running, shades on though it was too early for it to be very bright. He grabbed the ball, his friend who was supposedly named John giving a laugh and pushing up his glasses. They were both obviously just obnoxious teenage boys. The blonde turned towards Vriska. "Nice catch. Little tip, next time, use your hands. Not your head."
She rolled her eyes. "Nice line. Next time, think it up with your brain. Not your ass." Vriska got on her knees, picking up the mess of the spilled binder that scattered across the sidewalk in front of them. As she hurriedly collected the contents, the words on the papers could be seen, scribbled onto every line and squashed together like there wasn't enough room on a million pages. Now, thinking to herself as she cleaned the mess he made, she realized her attitude alone would never intimidate him, and by the way he was acting, he could probably care less about how she looked. She gazed over him with her piercing icy blue eyes, rolling them once more, and as if on queue, her bangs fell into her face and over her cold glare. She hugged her binder against her chest and stood back up.
"Mreow, kitty's got claws, hm?" He laughed and shook his head; he thought he was so damn clever. It was obvious he was not intimidated, in fact it almost seemed like he thought her act was sort of... Funny. He bent down now and patted her on the head. "Maybe if you behave, kitty will get a treat." The blonde prick walked away with John, proceeding to make his way to the main school building. Vriska blew her bangs out of her eyes. God, did that boy piss her off.
Of course, it was inevitable that her first day was to be the worst. Her luck had proved bad enough already, starting the day with a small concussion, an impossible to find home room class, but noooooooo-
She walked in late, and the teacher told her she could have a seat in the only open desk. Right. Behind. Him.
She plopped down reluctantly, opening her binder and pulling out a pen in her signature shade of blue, beginning to "take notes" as she would call it, though what she wrote was a hopeless dream and a pending distraction. And then he turned around, tapping her desk. "Well, look here. They put my pet in my class. Aren't I lucky?"
"Oh look, he's in punching distance... Isn't he frikin lucky?" She mumbled, clutching tight to the pen, too tight. It snapped under her grip, ink splattering, to her surprise, on him. Not her clothes, or her binder, just her hand, his clothes, and the floor. Finally, a little good luck.
Vriska just snickered at first, bury her smirk quickly faded as she realized what she had done to his clothes. The boy rolled his eyes, not realizing what was happening at first before she took his hand with her clean one, dragging him outside to the hallways despite the teacher's and his protests and or complaints. She quickly took off her denim jacket, revealing battered arms that were lined with battle scars and bruises. She wiped her hand clean, taking out her wallet and fingering through her cash with red cheeks. "Shit..." He tried to pull away from her but she had a strong grip on him. "I have hand sanitizer, and alcoholic wipes in my first aid kit too... Maybe it'll come clean?"
He looked down at his clothes and huffed loudly. "Just buy me new clothes!" He ordered with raised eyebrows. Vriska scowled and dropped her gaze, grabbing her back before forfeiting two twenties.
"Fine. Here. When you throw out those clothes just know some of us here won't have the money to eat tonight." She rolled her eyes and started off, forgetting about her jacket behind her.
