We are both 32 now
I held Tyler's hand as we watched TV
There was shriek of fear
"DAAAAD"
Then loud sobbing
Tyler and I made eye contact then jumped up immediately
She was in the bathroom
I swung open the door
"What happened!"
Tyler and I both said
Her pants were on the floor and she was sitting on the toilet sobbing
I looked at her underwear
Blood
"oh"
I said quietly
"Am I dying?"
She asked
I heard Tyler whisper to me
"How do we explain this"
I cleared my throat and walked over to her
"No your not dying, It'll be okay"
She sobbed out
"Why am I bleeding I don't remember cutting myself"
I looked over at Tyler wide eyed
He was twisting his ring around his finger nervously
"Ruby, hang on let's get you cleaned up and I'll explain"
She nodded and rested her head on my shoulder
"it's okay bubs"
Tyler ran out of the room and came back with clean underwear
He opened the cupboard and pulled out a pad
I looked at him confused
"How long have we had those?"
He shrugged
"I thought we should be prepared"
I sighed
"But she's only 10, I didn't think she'd get it this early"
Tyler shrugged as he put the pad on the underwear
"It's quite normal josh"
I silently laughed
"Okay mom"
Then ruby interrupted
"What did I get to early?"
Tyler sighed and got down to her level
"Okay, here we go"
