Not an Everyday Picnic

Annabeth's POV

Lucky me. You know your in trouble when Percy brings you on a surprise date. I mean a literal surprise. No matter how much I try he won't tell me.

"Hey Percy, where are we going again?"

"Sorry Wise Girl."

"Seaweed Brain can you tell me how many syllables it has?"

"How about... No."

All he told me was to dress casual. Being an obedient woman I wore my Camp Half-Blood t-shirt, my camp necklace, and lastly jean shorts. When it was finally time to go Percy called downstairs to me.

"Hey Annabeth I can tell you where we're going now."

I was so exited I almost screamed.

"Okay where are we going?"

"We're going over to the park to have a picnic."

Well that was not what I was expecting. Anyways that's why he wanted me to dress casual. Speaking of casual Percy then came downstairs wearing a sea green shirt and jeans, and of course his camp necklace. Okay I guess he wasn't lying.

"Of all places why do we have to go to the park to have a picnic/date?"  I asked Percy.

"Okay maybe I was exaggerating a tiny bit," confessed Percy. "We aren't going to the park. But we are going to a picnic! We're going to the beach for the picnic."

Well that's better I thought to myself.

"So Wise Girl... Do you still want to go or not?" asked Percy.

"Oh... Yeah okay. Let's go!"

Okay just a tiny bit of backstory. Percy and I are both 23 and we got a house together. Not really a house I guess. It's technically an apartment by the Empire State Building, and camp. (You know the reasons.)

We got in Percy's BMW and drove towards the beach. We got out Percy set down the towel. We sat down and started dining on blue pasta and blue Mac n' Cheese. After the main course Percy served blue cookies and blue cupcakes.

After that Percy and I stood up and stared at the sunset when I turned to Percy he was on one knee with a small box in his hand.

"Annabeth Chase we have been together through many things. Things like Tartarus, wars, and separation. I don't think I could possibly live a life without you. When we first met I thought we were going to hate each other and sometimes we probably do. But the point is will you do me the honor of becoming Annabeth Jackson? Will you marry me?" He presented a beautiful ring with a diamond in the middle and a gold ring base.

I was crying now, but through sobs I managed to say "I will!"

Then we Percy got up and we kissed for a good solid minute. When we were done he picked me up and carried me to the car. When we got home we got into bed and we were thinking the same thing: We have A LOT of planning to do.
