this is the breakdown of the story which will include symbolism, the reasons for the numbers, pictures, etc. THIS WILL BASICALLY SPOIL THE ENTIRE STORY SO DON'T READ THIS UNLESS YOU'VE FINISHED THE STORY OR JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED-

Summarize the Story? - This story tells of two people. Kim Taehyung and the girl. The story starts off with a girl who is watching over (kinda like protecting) Taehyung- she's dead. She then goes explaining/reminiscing each of those memories with him. She tells of how she was different from others and lived in a dark world until he came, but in the end she fell to her own grief and committed suicide. Taehyung was her friend and person who was there for her. Throughout the story, you can see that at first he was intrigued my her mysteriousness before wanting her to be a big part of her life. However, one day he came home upon to get a letter. The letter was a goodbye letter from her and when he realizes that she was going to leave him he goes to her place- a little too late. The story written in past tense ends with his arrival at her place surrounded by people, ambulance, police, and, of course, her death.  Years have passed and now we once again return to the present. Taehyung has lived his life just like she had told him to do in her letter.

PICTURES

-Colored Pictures in "one." and "fourteen;; finale"

-the colored picture in "one" showed a girl who had messy hair, white cloth draped in the background and a long black skirt. basically, she looks lifeless with contributes to the fact that she's dead.

-the colored picture of taehyung in "fourteen;; finale" shows him on the chair with dyed hair and head looking down. His brightly dyed hair shows that he's been living life- he's been trying to be bold and move on, but looking down represents that it isn't easy for him. He's also not sitting up straight on the chair either.

-Black and White (grey scale) pictures in the rest (not all of the rest had pictures, but most did)

The colored pictures were used to represent the present and the black and white images were used to represent the past.

SPEECH

-notice that from part "two." to part "thirteen" were written in a tone that someone would write if they're telling something that happened in the past.

ROMAN NUMERALS

-the roman numerals start on part "seven." these numerals with "VI" which means 6. If you count from the beginning, this would be their sixth memory together out of the idea of 13 memories that would be introduced in part "eight."

-these numerals continue to part "thirteen" with "XII" which means 12. this chapter was her death so their memories would stop at 12 memories

DATE AND TIME

-most chapters have a date and time on time. if you read, you can see that the date continues to increases each chapter. notice that the time on each chapter also increases. there isn't a chapter with time where the time is earlier than a previous one-  the increasing date and time on the parts shows that they are leading to something- the big event- her death-

CHAPTER/CONTEXT FORESHADOWING

- In part "one." she says

"In the beginning, I thought that once everything ends..."

she said end- meaning death. for a lot of people, once you die- that truly is the end of the road-

she also says "I'm sleeping." and although she goes on to say that she doesn't want to wake up from the sleep- she says "I can't wake up."

Some people describe death as sleep (like when little kids ask what happen to the elders)

the fact that she can't wake up further contributes to the only possible explanation that she has died. once you have died, it's it. it's over for you. the dead don't get resurrected.

- In part "two" she said "it was coming" but before that she said that she should've distanced herself away from people. usually when something bad has happened or is going to happen, some people distance themselves away from people because they want to minimize the pain that the person will feel when something bad will happen.

-In part "three" she said that there wasn't much time left. wasn't much time left to the end.

-In part "four" she says that something that happens once can happen again- as you later read- the death of her friend can happen again with hers- before the line she mentions examples of things being repeated- she goes from the dogs to procrastinators but suddenly goes extreme with the example of a suicidal person-

-In part five you are giving a glimpse of the mysterious event with the scissors. in here she is saying sorry while the other person says that she didn't save her. save her from death. part four comes into play with this too- with the past repeating again- additionally she explains to her deceased friend that she couldn't save her because her death was too sudden- some sudden and unexpected is usually not on purpose and things that happen that are not on purpose are usually accidents- meaning the death of her friend was an accident.

-in part six she said "everything was going to end" which hints that she's dead.

-in part seven she wonders how she survived the isolation- key word: survived- which means she went through isolation and loneliness and that she no longer deals with that- she also says there's exactly one month left- she's counting down- and sometimes when people count down- they're counting the days they have left-
