"Do you look beautiful?" He asks me as I finish clasping the rose gold necklace my dad bought for me around my neck.
I turn to him, a simple smile on my face, his unreal shimmering blue eyes staring blankly ahead.
"Do I sound beautiful?" I question as I slowly make my way to him, my heels clicking on the hotel's tile floor. I grab his hand and squeeze it in mine, the engagement ring he proposed to me with facing up.
Tonight is not our wedding, but our friends'. My best friend and his met when we started dating, and they fell in love as soon as their eyes met. It was sweet to watch, and to be there when they get married, as best man and maid of honor, well.. it really is an honor.
"You are music," he murmurs. Butterflies tickle my stomach as they always do, and I lean up, brushing my lips on his. He takes the signal and presses his soft mouth against mine, a lingering peck left on my red lipstick. He runs his hands down my simple grey dress and they meet each other at the small of my back, and he pulls me to his chest, where I rest my cheek against his matching grey suit. "You feel beautiful," he whispers.
Tears sting my eyes and I close them, allowing a few to slide down my powdered cheeks. How lucky am I to have found him? To be his fiancé.
To be his future wife.
"I love you," I coo, my hands holding the back of his neck as he rocks us back and forth.
"I love you more, darling."
