Just at a few months, Natalie Catalano was taken to the United states by her parents from Rosewood, Italy.
When they arrived to the United States, her parents quickly changed her last name to Hastings.
Her parents kissed their precious baby goodbye, until next time.
If there was going to be a next time.
Baby Natalie, at the time, didn't know that her parents had left her at the steps of Radley Orphanage.
Seventeen years passed since Natalie was left at those steps by her parents. She had to bear seventeen years of watching people come and go. Watch everyone get picked but her. All her newly made friends had been taken from her.
All the constant leaving and coming made Natalie sad. Her sadness trekked on as her wanting for her parent's identity to come to light became stronger. And what made matters worse is she found out in that time spent in the orphanage that she had Anorexia.
All the boys and girls laughed at her, or stared at her funny when monthly checkups came around and she wasn't as thick as the rest. Her hipbones perturbed out of her skin and her collarbones were clearly visible. They never understood why she was different from them, so they pestered her for it.
Soon, making friends was getting harder and harder. The only solace she found was when she was with three people who didn't make fun of her condition, the cook Leah and two other orphanage girls, Mia and Victoria.
These three were all Natalie had and all that she needed.
Or so she thought.
