Ignoring the bright lights and all their fun,
Besides teddy bears piled high we stand.
Trapped, much like them, are we simply waiting to be won?
She reaches to take my hand
Over the loud music almost unheard
she sings softly filling my head with her voice
leaving everything around us blurred
as though I have no choice
yet loving her feels like the most natural thing in this world.
So we huddle together in the cold, eating fish and chips,
watching the carousel and imagining how it twirled.
I turn to taste her lips.
We don't mind that we'll always have to hide
as long as her boyfriend never finds out that she lied.
