Megan Lewis

6:09 am

I woke up the next morning and I didn't feel arms wrapped around me. I turned over and he was gone. The bed was cold so he'd been gone for a while. I sighed and reminisced about the night that we had. Also about where we stood now. I tried to clear my thoughts and get ready for the day. We had a meeting with Missoni at 8:30 and I had to focus on work. I got up and my legs were sore. I worked some muscles I haven't used in a while. I tried to stand up straight and get ready.

I pulled on a burgundy skater dress and topped it with my go to black blazer so I wouldn't be so causal. I wet down my hair and left it in it's natural curly state. I slipped on a pair of black flats because my feet were hurting from last night. I grabbed my purse and put my phone and wallet in there. I looked in the the mirror for one last overview. I applied some Chapstick and then put it in my purse. I heard a knock on the door and I prepared myself for what was about to happen.

I went to the door and opened it and Alex was standing there in a nice grey sweater and a white collared shirt underneath. He had on dark washed jeans and grey boat shoes. He smiled while looking at my outfit.

"You ready?" He asked. I nodded my head. He put his arm out and I wrapped mine into his. I closed my door and then we walked to the elevators. We weren't talking but it wasn't awkward. It was a pleasant silence.

"I really like your hair by the way." I smiled.

"Thank you."

"Where would you like to go for breakfast?" He asked.

"Isn't there a café here? We can just go there to save time." He nodded and pressed the up button on the elevator.

"How are you feeling?" He asked with a smirk. I knew what he was talking about. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"I'm ... good, how is your head?" I asked thinking about the fall he took off the bed last night. We were pretty wild. He just smiled.

"I think I'll be okay. I just need some coffee." The elevator doors opened and he let me walk out first. He moved his arm to grab my hand. I smiled and so did he. We went to the café and took our seats.

"So we have meetings with Rizzo and Romano. Did you talk to Martin about booking the boarding room so we won't have to lug the board around?" I asked. He nodded his head.

"Yes, everything is set. I called him to set it up for all the meetings today as well." I nodded.

"Then we have to head over to the preview of Castillo's new line," I said forking through my fruit parfait. He nodded.

"Everything is fine Megan. Just relax." I took a deep breathe in and out.

"I'm sorry. I just wanna make sure everything is in order." He reached for my hand and I contemplating on pulling back at first. But his touch calmed me a little.

"We're going to be okay. We got this. Last night was an example. We're good." I nodded and interlaced my hand with his. It was the smallest touch of affection but he had me feeling like a giddy teenager.

After we got done with breakfast, we headed to our first meeting. When we got to the building, Alex became professional. He straightened up and didn't make as much contact with me as he did when we were in the hotel. I understood but I don't know how I can switch it on and off like he does. That's the way the rest of the day went. Business meetings and being professional.

When we got back to the hotel, I was wiped and tired of talking to people's assistants and trying to get through them to talk to the designers. I sighed heavily as we walked off the elevator and Alex smiled. "I feel you."
