"Alright, everyone line up!" called out a voice.
In an average sized natatorium, three of the five Olympic sized pool were lined up with many people, each lane separated with boys and girls. The girls wore a black one piece swimsuit with a tiny, green bird logo a bit higher than their left breast, a black cap with a white, bold "Totori High" placed on it, and goggles that hugged their heads. The boys wore black jammers that was decorated with green triangles that traveled from their waist all the way to the side of their leg, the same exact cap along with goggles that hugged their heads as well. They were all lined up behind the starting block, their heads turned to stare at the only boy in the entire group that didn't have his swim cap and goggles on. The boy had short, jet black hair and bright emerald eyes. He was about five feet and six inches, which made him a bit taller than most of the swimmers on the swim team. As they continued to stand there the others members were not only shivering because they were cold, but also because of the boy's intimidating eyes.
"We're going to race all the way to the end of the pool. Do twenty meters as fast as you can, get out of the pool, walk around and then do it again."
"Yes, Captain!" the cheered in unison.
Most of the group nodded and did what they were told, except for one person. He stepped out of the line and walked over to the Captain.
"Oi, Allen..." he sighed. "Do we really have to swim that much? The team just started back up again and some of these guys are still learning."
This boy was a bit taller and a bit more built than Allen. As he moved closer to the Captain, the boy took of his swim cap, revealing his bold red hair. Afterwards, he took of his goggles, which showed his matching crimson eyes. He wore the exact same kind of jammer as Allen, but the only difference was that his composed of red triangles instead.
Allen glanced over at the other, rolled his eyes and ruffled his dripping hair.
"Look, Johan. They're going to have to get used to this anyways. Plus, it's just one lap down." he walked to the edge of the pool and watched the other teammates dive into the pool. "If they don't practice now, then how would they get better?"
Johan sighed heavily and yawned.
"I mean, these are new swimmers. Maybe you should help them out a bit."
Allen continued to watch the others dive into the pool and walk around.
"I am." he grunted. "This is just an exercise before I have them race individually. They need to get used to this so that I can see their potential. Now, are you going to do this or just wait until the next exercise."
"I'll cheer for them." Johan grinned excitedly. "I think they need some of that right now."
Johan walked over to the girl's lane and clapped his hands happily.
"Go on, ladies!!" he smiled brightly as the girls appeared to be swimming faster. "You got this!"
Allen rolled his eyes and walked over to the boy's lane. Once the last person went to the back of the line, Allen took a step back and pointed to the lane beside himself.
"I want this line to split in half. You're going to be racing fifties against each other. That's only two laps down and back."
He frowned at the several groans and mumbling complaints as the line split apart into two separate lanes.
"Do y'all want to swim a five hundred? That'll be twenty laps, nonstop." Allen crossed his arms.
All the guys shook their heads, which made Allen scoff.
