"Alright, guys... Formation number seven!" I ordered as everyone struggled to maintain their positions.

"Naku, my power is draining." Kurai panicked a bit.

"Hold on for a while longer, Kurai. We're almost finished." I reassured.

After a couple of minutes, we finished our training and walked out of the gym. We were having fun, sparring and getting used to the strength of our power.

"Oh, geez! It's getting late in my dimension. I have to go guys. I'll be back tomorrow." Yukai waved and he walked through the portal.

"I can't believe it's been a year since that last battle." I sighed.

"We've changed so much since then." Riuyo added.

"Wow. It's really late, actually. We were reading the clock wrong." Shibaki gasped.

"What do you mean? It's only been... FIVE HOURS?!" I yelled.

"Quiet. Your father might wake up and get mad at you for staying up late until one in the morning." Rojin warned.

We walked to the television room and started to look for something interesting to watch. The hours practically flew and the sun started to rise.

"Did we just...?" Kuriagi asked.

"Yup." Rojin answered with a yawn.

"And none of us fell asleep." Satori added.

"What's dad gonna say about it when he finds out?" I asked.

"He won't find out. Just pretend that you just woke up." Kurai answered.

Just as Kurai answered, my father walked into the room. He seemed pretty well rested, which means he can take any kind of bad news in the most amazing way possible.

"Morning boys. Why are you guys up so early?" My father asked.

"Who says we went to sleep?" Riuyo replied in a low voice.

We laughed a bit at what Riuyo answered and then looked at my father who, who was curious about our behavior.

"Please tell me that you didn't stay up all night." My father sighed.

"N-no. I assure you, we were all asleep by ten thirty." Kurai answered.

"Then how would you explain this?" My father asked as he pointed at me, sleeping on the couch.

"I-... Uh... Gimme a second." Kurai stuttered. "Yo! Naku, wake up!"

"No." I complained in my sleep.

"There's red velvet cupcakes for breakfast." Kurai whispered in my ear.

"Move people, breakfast like that is the most important meal of the day." I said while running towards the dining hall.

"See? He's awake." Kurai chuckled.

I got to the table before anyone else and started eating whatever was on the breakfast tray. A couple of minutes after I started eating, everyone else joined in. Soon after that, Yukai sent me a message from the other dimension, telling me that he would cross over to eat breakfast with us.

"Hey hey!" Yukai greeted us as he walked into the dining hall.

"Yukai, did you catch some sleep last night?" My father asked.

"Sure did." He smiled but, when my father looked away, he nodded and whispered, "Not really."

"Well then, all of you should head to school now that you're awake." My father smirked.

"I have a perfect solution for this." I said before calling my instructor over.

"I can give them classes here. It shouldn't be too much trouble." He stated.

My father sighed but agreed within a few minutes and we headed off to the class. It felt just like the regular school, with the seats, the board, and everything else that was in the other school.

"So, what lesson would you like to study today?" The instructor asked.

"Potions." Yukai answered.

"Magic." Kurai answered.

"Spell casting." I answered.

"So, in total, you want to study with necromancy? I think we can do that." The instructor stated.

"So, it's settled. We'll start with-..." I started before I sensed a sudden rush of energy.

"Is something wrong?" Kurai asked.

"Most likely. I'm gonna check something out. I'll be back in a while." I said before rushing over to the main hall.

"I'm going after him." Riuyo said as he ran after me.

Like a chain reaction, everyone started following after. Soon enough, we were all in the same place where we were exactly a year ago. There were sudden changes in the wind and the sky looked darker. I knew something was wrong.

"Do you smell that?" Kuriagi asked.

"Yup. It's fire." I answered as I stared at the puff of smoke from the window.

"What could've caused that?" Shibaki wondered.

"Something that I want to know. I'm gonna find out." I said with a serious tone.

"Not without us." Jinriu said in a firm voice.

"Fine, but try to keep up." I replied.

In a matter of minutes, we reached the area where we saw the puff of smoke. It was a bit strange, since it seemed like if it was untouched by any flames whatsoever. All we saw were some stone debris and a couple of torch holders.

"Guys, I hear something." Kurai whispered.

"I hear it too. It sounds close. It sounds like it's coming from over there." I said as I pointed at a small river that was hidden behind some trees.

We searched through the entire riverside and, to no luck, couldn't find anything that could've caused the noise. We kept on searching for the source and I split up from the group. After a couple of minutes, I heard the sounds getting louder. The sounds were actually sentences. They were coming from someone who was hiding in the small group of trees.

"I'll make him pay for this. I just need to team up with the hybrid and he'll help me. I'm sure of it. But... Where can I find him." The voice said out loud.

"Are you ok?" I asked as I reached for the person.

"I think I am. I feel different, though." He answered.

I smiled at him, letting him know that I wasn't gonna hurt him. He seemed like he already went through so much pain, I didn't want him to feel scared of me.

"So... What's your name?" I asked.

"Why would you wanna know?" He replied coldly.

"Because I want to know you. I can't help if I don't know your name." I chuckled.

"Fine. If you must know, my name is Kaede." He replied, still coldly.

"I hear you're looking for a hybrid. The only hybrids I know are the kings of this dimension." I stated.

"Can you tell me where I can find the original hybrid? The one who's in charge right now." Kaede asked.

"Actually, he found you." I replied, leaving Kaede in a state of excitement and shock.

"So... You're the hybrid prince?!" He asked excitedly.

"More like "King" now. I'm Naku Tsukishiro, the Hybrid King." I smiled.
