As I start to awaken and look around I see nothing but darkness. I feel a cold, cement room. Suddenly the lights abruptly flash on. I cringe from the light being too bright. There's nothing but a door, a mirror, and the chair that I'm tied to. No doubt that, that mirror is double sided. I'm being watched. Better be careful what I say.
Then, I see the door handle turn as the door opens. "Okay, this is it," I say to myself, "This is what you've been training all of these years for."
A woman enters the room with a folder with some information on it. I look her up and down, searching for any unusual lumps to see if she has a weapon. I don't see any proof. She's unloaded.
"So, Jordan Walsh is it?" The woman says.
"You already know who I am, or else I wouldn't be here." I say.
"Well, well, well. Chief warned me about your attitude." She starts, crossing her arms and walking closer, "Don't think I won't duct tape that pretty little mouth of yours shut." She says sternly, bending over and putting her face up close to mine.
"You don't scare me." I say. I try to see if there's any give in these ropes so I could escape. I pull, and nope, no give.
"Just tell me what I want to hear." She says in a persuasive tone.
"Well what do you want to hear?" I ask. In all of my years of training, I've been told never to give in to their questions and just stall until you can find a way to get out.
"What do you know about Oscar Lawson?" She asks, starting to walk around me to get behind me.
"Nothing. I know absolutely nothing." I say, keeping a straight face.
"You and I both know that, that's not the answer I want." She whispers in my ear, getting really close to my head.
"And you and I both know I have nothing to say to you." I say, looking her dead in the eye.
Just then, I feel a little give in the ropes. It loosens and as she turns her back to me I'm able to untie my hands from the chair. Then, I untie the knot on my feet out and I get up from the chair.
I go up behind the woman and she turns around. Seeing me, she swings her fist at my head. I doge her arm, but it almost just hits me. I then swing my leg around, kicking her smack dab in the jaw. I back away to get more room, and I run into the chair I was just sitting on. I grab the chair and I smash it into her waist. She falls to the ground.
Now's my chance to escape.
I run out of the door into a room to be greeted by everyone cheering and screaming. My final test is over.
"Great job in there, Adelina." My chief says.
"Thanks, Chief. I couldn't have done it without the help of you." I say.
Yes, my name is Adelina Davis. Jordan Walsh is my undercover name. I'm a secret agent at the H & C firm. You've probably never heard of it because well, we're pretty secretive. I just finished the final test in my training, I am now officially a member of the Elites. A high class group of secret agents that go on intense missions for the government. No one in my agency had ever gotten to the Elites and I've just done it. I've never been more proud of myself.
"Adelina, I think there's someone outside who wants to congratulate you." My chief says.
My mind instantly thinks of Erik.
Erik Knight, he's my boyfriend. We've been on and off for about 2 and a half years now. He doesn't know that I'm a secret agent though, he thinks I'm a lawyer and that I've been trying to get into an elite debate team.
I run outside the room to be greeted not by my boyfriend, but my trainer. Connor Moore. He's not just my trainer, he's also my best friend.
"Adelina!" He screams as he wraps his arms around me to hug me.
"Thanks, Connor." I chuckle.
"It's so crazy to think, I'm talking to a member of the Elites!" He exclaims, pulling away from the hug.
"I know, and it's even crazier to think I'm a member of the Elites!" I say.
"We have to go out and celebrate!" Connor says.
"Would, but I can't. Erik is coming over to my place tonight." I reply. I see the disappointment in Connor's eyes, he's never liked Erik. Connor always told me that Erik doesn't deserve me, but I love Erik so he just has to put up with it.
"When are you going to realize that You can do so much better than Erik?" Connor asks me.
"Connor, he's really not that bad." I reply.
"That's not what you said 2 months ago when he broke your heart for the umpteenth time." He says, slightly irritated.
"It's not like that. Besides, he's changed." I say. Deep down inside I know that Erik hasn't changed, but I'm holding out hope that he will. Erik is just very flirty, and also very jealous. When he gets mad he acts out, and he'll cheat on me, he'll hurt me, and sometimes he just flat out breaks up with me. Erik and I always end up back together in the end, that's how I know we love each other. If we weren't meant to be, we wouldn't keep getting back together.
"There's no way in a million years that Erik will ever change." Connor says.
"Connor, you just don't know him like I do." I say.
"Yes I do! We have this conversation every time you guys get back together, and then he just goes and breaks your heart again!" Connor yells.
"Connor-" I say.
"No, just- just have fun with Erik, because I'm done trying to help you get yourself out of this mess you call a relationship." Connor says, starting to walk away.
"Connor! Please don't be like that." I say.
He ignores me and walks away.
