Sixteen years ago...
"Hurry up! We have to outrun then!"
"But where are we going to put Natasha? We can't take her with us, it's too dangerous and we can't just leave her in the streets! She's our daughter!"
"There's a foster home down this street. It's probably the safest place for her right now."
The sound of shuffling feet started fading as we ran.
"I think we lost them for now" I say
I can feel my heart beat beating hard against my chest.
"I think I see the Foster home" Marcus
"Ok, let's leave her at the doorstep, knock, then run away. We should go to headquarters to get some more weapons and resources"
"Sounds like a plan"
I walk up to the front door of the foster home and place Natasha gently on the doorstep so when someone opens the door they don't hit her.
"Hey baby girl" I say
She opens up her big brown eyes and looks at me.
"I love you so much and so does your father and I hope that you know were doing this to protect you. I promise we will always find each other later on, no matter what."
She probably won't remember any of this, she's only 4 months old but I know that one day, we will see each other again.
"Before I go, I want to give you something my mother gave me when I was a little older than you."
I unclip the necklace that's hanging around my neck and put it around Natasha's neck. I know she'll keep it safe for me. I plant a kiss on her forehead and stand up.
"We should go, I think I hear some voices."
"Ok" I say while tears start to form in my eyes
I knock on the door and start to run. I hear Natasha crying. Her crying then turns into sobs and the door finally open. I quickly hide behind the corner of the building while tears drip down my face.
"Let's go. The earlier we get back to headquarters, the more weapons and resources we can manage to get"
I nod silently
I take one last look at the foster home and see a tall young lady with Natasha in her arms, cradling her. That was the last time I saw my baby girl
"Natasha will be fine. As long as she stays undercover so people don't know that she's our daughter, know one can hurt her"
"I know, it's just that she's our child and we won't get to see her first step or hear her first words or anything!" I yell a little too loudly
"I think they're over here! Come one" Says a voice not too far away from us
"Hurry, we have to run!" I whisper
"Ok, let's do this"
We ran as fast as we could in between buildings to try to lose them but the next thing I knew, I was lying face flat on the ground with a sword pressed to my back.
"Well. well, well. Look at what we have here! Miss and Mister Edwards!"
"Pike" I say under my breath
Pike is the leader of a gang that likes to kill everyone who is undercover or who works at our headquarters. He doesn't give a shit about anything. He would kill his own men if he had to.
"What do you want with us?" I ask Pike dryly
I know exactly what pike wants. Our daughter.
"Your daughter. Where is she" He said calmly
"We will never tell you! You can do anything to us but we will never EVER tell you where she is." I spat
"Tie 'em up boys, and make sure you tie them well. These two are sneaky" He sais and walks away
A guy came up to me and pricked something in my neck which made me pass out. The last thing I saw was someone lifting me up and putting me in the back of a truck a truck.
