My name's Connor and I am a 17-year-old fugitive. I wasn't always this way, but I was born into a very dangerous world. This is my journal; it can collect thoughts and put them into a story format. It was a present from my unknown family. All I can remember about my life is last year, and what my best friend Korol told me.
"Conner, It's Korol. I need to tell you something important. It's about some of the government's plans. My dad got some orders about gathering up people for 'experiments'. I'm guessing this is something that you should know, considering the whole rebel thing," Korol explained. I tried to cease contact with Kor, but I had to talk to him again.

"I don't have much time," I informed Korol, "I missed the shot." There was a brief moment of silence between the two of us. Korol looked at me with a smirk on his face.
"You actually did it. I never thought you would try to assassinate the president!" He yelled. It was daytime, and we had gone for a walk. I, of course, was wearing camouflage. The store next to us had a window, and I could see my reflection. Only I could see my long brown messy hair, scratchy beard, and green eyes that shined brighter than the sun's reflection. That was the only version of me that I knew; that I know.

So I attempted to assassinate an evil dictator planning to change people forever, big deal! I have been on the run for a long time now. In fact, I think this was my one-year anniversary. There had been only one person who I met so far that I knew I could trust. Her name was Hope, and like me, she didn't have most of her memories. She had lots of tech and a good place to hide. That wasn't all she had though.

"Connor, it's Hope," Hope said, "When are you coming home? I need you. Call me back." I could feel the vibration on my wrist, but it wasn't that different from the sonic pulses that the troopers threw at me. The pain was unbearable, but I made it through. Taking out my gun, I aimed for the trooper's head. Quickly, I pressed the trigger. The bullet flew towards him and exploded into smoke. No need for a body count, that's not what I want, I thought. Running as fast as I could, I caught a glance of the scenery. At the same time, it was beautiful and scary. There was a bright blue sky above, which I don't tend to see because of pollution. It was breathtaking. Seriously, it was breathtaking. I was running so hard that I started to run out of breath. Fortunately for me, I had lost them.
"Sorry, Hope, I had to get rid of a few loose ends," I explained to her as I went back home.

My heart grew tired. I could feel my lungs slowly collapsing as I tried to breathe; however, there was a silver lining to this. I'm finally getting better at running from the police! Ha, I never thought I would have to say that. No time for jokes, I thought as I climbed up the side of the building. This is the most climbing I've ever done! It was worth it; Because when I got up there, I saw the sunset. The large burning sun was setting on the horizon. Slowly, the light faded away. Warm air quickly cooled down with the sun's disappearance. At the same time, a cool mist encased the Earth. It had felt great to see the sunset, but I knew that this wasn't normal. This was a bright and sunny place that did not reflect my home. Everything around me was so alive and busy. For the first time, I saw people happy. Instantaneously, a smile grew on my face. My cheeks had felt tired after smiling so hard. It was great. That was the only thing I can remember that truly made me feel safe. Now, I am constantly reminded of the hell I live in. There were no insects, and there were not many people. The sky was grey most of the time from the pollution the many factories produced. I barely ever see the sun because the pollution forms clouds. Those clouds in turn produce acidic rain. Fortunately for me, I haven't been in acidic rain too much.

Short StoryThis was just a little short story that I did for school. It also is a spin-off of 5DH featuring my favorite character, Connor. I do have a whole series planned, but I don't want to do it without any good acclaim for this book. If this does become p...
