Early in the morning, as the sun’s light is just about to touch the ground, standing on the top of a mountain, from which you can view the whole City, which is called Seikatsu City -City of Life-, is a little girl watching and observing everything from there. The wind flows around her as she closes her eyes. Wings came out of her back and wrap around her body. Then she slowly vanishes like petals being blown away.

In the city, a middle school girl with long brown hair, blue eyes, pink lips, long eye lashes and fair skin, is staring in the distance, standing in front of a cherry blossom tree. The wind brushes off some leaves and blows through her hair. Birds are singing as they fly past her, then a girl, with black hair, calls out to her, smiling, as she waves at her.

“Hey, you coming? We’re gonna be late” the black haired girl said, as she approaches her.

The girl turns towards her and looks at her with eyes as if  they are searching for something. Something that seems to be somewhere far away, a place which seems so hard to reach. Like another world. She looks at her friend with a blank expression. It looked like she wasn’t even there.

“Hey, you okay? Is something bothering you?” The black haired girl says with concern. She takes her hand, because it seemed like she didn’t hear a thing. She was like a stone, she didn’t move nor did she react.

As soon as her hand was held, she returned to reality and realized that her friend was there.

“Oh sorry. Was I spacing out again?” she smiled faintly and then laughed a bit. But it was clearly fake. “Shall we go? We might be late” then the girl started walking. Her friend sighed and followed her.

As the two of them walk to school, the girl was very quiet and looked like she was thinking of something deep again. When her friend noticed this, she started talking to break the silence.

“Hey, Ame-chan, I’ve noticed you’ve been spacing out a lot these past few days. Are you feeling ok?” she asked and Ame just nodded as an answer.

“How’s your sleeping? Did you get to sleep this time?” She asked again.

            “A bit.” Ame answered plainly.

“Are you eating well? Did you eat this morning?” The black haired girl continiued.

“I ate last night but I didn’t have any appetite this morning.” Ame answered.

“I see...” Ame's friend responded and it looked like she was out of questions. Then she remembered. “Hey, Ame-chan, did you hear? They said that a new student just enrolled! I wonder why just now? Isn’t it a bit late? I wonder if it’s a foreigner. Is it a boy or a girl? What year can he or she be? What do you think Ame-chan?” she asked cheerfully.

But despite the effort of her friend to cheer her up, Ame remained silent untill she suddenly stopped. She dropped her bag and an image flashed in her mind. A horrible image, where a blond girl got stabbed by a katana and a world she has never been to or know of, started to crumble. This image made her shake in fear. She was paralyzed. Her friend noticed and approached her.

“Ame-chan? Are you alright?” she tapped her shoulder and felt Ame’s shaking “Ame-chan, you’re shaking. Are you feeling fine? You look petrified” she said in confusion and with concern.

She saw fear in Ame’s eyes, a fear she couldn’t understand. Fear she has never seen in Ame's eyes before. But at the same time, she saw pain and suffering in her eyes. She truly couldn’t understand what has gotten into Ame. She just said her name with a trembling voice, as she couldn’t understand what happens to her friend and worse: she couldn’t do anything for her.
