chapter fourteen

august pov

now

later on today cristal and i were planning on going to the carnival later tonight. we were sitting on the couch downstairs watching supernatural . i looked at my phone and saw it was an hour before six and we decided to get ready for the carnival.

i wore a white long sleeve crop top with my black ripped jean . i went into the bathroom and decided to curl my hair. i put my black vans on and waited for cristal.

cristals pov

i decided to wear a black crop top with a black joggers and my camel green jacket. i went into the bathroom with my clothe. i closed the door and turned on the sink so August wont hear my sob. i take out the blade from the sink cabinet and cut my thigh for August wont be able to see it. i let it bleed for a while as i cried for a while and washed it off. i put on my clothe and washed my face to pretend like nothing happened. i did my make up and hair. walking down stairs i see August on the couch smoking her vape pen. i say,

"ready?" with a fake smile. i obviously was cutting because of Cameron and if anyone ever found out i wouldn't know what to do with myself, especally Cameron.

august and i walk out and go inside her car.

at the carnival

we go out the car and bought our tickets. we walked into the actual carnival and we started walking around first to see all the rides before we pay for one. we decided to go on the zipper first. we heard it was really harsh so we decided to try it. once we got off of it we decided to go buy some cotton candy and then to the fairest wheel. on our way to the fairest wheel we were talking about how fun and exciting the zipper was.

we made it to the fairest wheel and we saw the boys up in front of the line and the operator said that we had to go with one of the boys. i sat down in an empty seat and the operator told cameron to sit next to me and august sat next to shawn. me and cameron made it to the top and it stopped. he said,

"cristal." and turned to look at me . i didn't turn back to him instead i looked to the other side. he put his hand on my thigh where i cut and i let out a small 'ow' because of the pain. i looked down at his arm and then at him and he said,

"i broke up with brook."

"thats great cam, what next? you think im going to be running back to you?"

he smiled with a small nod and i said,

"well sweaty, you thought wrong." i said with a little bit more attitude. i know i didnt mean it but i did feel good to say that . he took his hand off my thigh and said,

"why did nit hurt when i touched your thigh?"

"no reason, just leave me alone." i said defensively.

augusts pov

i cross my arms around my chest and look the other way.

"why do you hate me august?" shawn said. i didnt answer because i wasnt in the mood to talk to him. i went out today to have a good day not to talk to my 'brother'. we finally got off the fairest wheel and i ran to cristal and we went to the games. we were followed by the magcon boys. i tried scoring but i failed. i really wanted a teddy bear like cristal won. taylor stepped in and payed the man in the station.

he through the ring and made it on the first shot. i made a pouting face for he can give it to me. he made me a innocient look and hold the bear out for me to grab it . i smiled and leaned in to grab it and he pulled it away and started laughing. i hit him in the arm playfully and said,

"jerk."

he kept laughing and opened his arms wide open to give me a hug. i looked at him and walked the oppisite way and cristal and i started laughing.

after a while at the carnival we decided to go to a valley and do some graffiti and smoke. i smoke vape and cristal just recently started smoking weed. she seems more stressed out for a while and i don't know why.

we went home and cristal fell asleep after showering. i checked my phone and saw a message from cameron.

messages:

cameron: somethings wrong with cristal...

i looked at cristal and thought,

today was a good day until now...
