Tasha's POV
“So what are we going to order?” I asked Corinne excitedly while fastening my seatbelt. I pulled my phone out of my purse and went online to browse the Asian restaurant’s menu. “How about Fotomaki with salmon and chives-“
“How about we get home first and then decide?” Corinne smiled somewhat sarcastically, making me frown.
“Okay Ms. Testy.” I muttered and just when I was about to put my phone away, it went off. “What the-“ I mumbled when I saw that I had a text message from some who wasn’t on my contact list. “Why the hell does some reverend send me dirty texts? I’m not even religious.” I huffed, figuring it was some sick prank.
Corey laughed out loud, “Are you serious? Gimmie that.” Her hand left the steering wheel and grabbed my phone. Corey took her eyes of the road for a second and glanced at the screen, only laughing louder. “It’s Jimmy.” She said to me.
“Corinne, just forget about those crazy assed dudes already! The ID clearly says ‘The Reverend Tholomew Plague- Oh gosh, it really is him, isn’t it?” I sighed and even through a sly smiled tugged on the corner of my lips, I couldn’t help but feel a little disturbed.
“It’s his stage name dummy…” She laughed, “He’s cute, what did he say?” Corinne hummed curiously.
“That he wants me to go out with him, what else is new?” I rolled my eyes and stuffed the phone inside my tote bag. I had to admit that there was indeed something incredibly charming about him, but I never gave into guys too easily, I had to watch my step, for various reasons.
“Then go.” Corinne shrugged and changed the radio station. A melodic yet heavy music burst through the speakers. “He’s a rockstar, have some fun!” She coaxed me.
“Yeah exactly, a r-o-c-k s-t-a-r.” I said the last part loudly and clearly. “I can’t, I’ll get into trouble.” I rejected the possibility. “Besides, he’s way too virtuous for me.”
“Blah blah blah.” Corinne pushed her palm against my face. “He’ll find out how much of a bitch you are and run for his life, and everyone wins!” She grinned teasingly.
“Oh shut it, will you?” I pushed her hand off, she probably smeared my crisp lipstick. “We’re going to have a nice, sushi dinner and forget anything that has to do with those assholes, deal?” I batted my eyelashes when I saw that we were already driving down the road in our neighborhood, which was rather fancy, to be honest.
“Yeah…About that…” Corinne wrinkled up her nose, she was about to continue when my phone went off again, making me groan.
“Corinne he asked if I liked whales! What kind of person asks stuff like that?!” I muttered under my breath and tuned out his playful texts. “Wait, what?” My head shot up in response to her comment.
“I have business to take care of…Urgent tattoo stuff…” Corinne tried to make it sound like it was no big deal.
“No! What about my dumplings?!” I protested, I hated being alone at home and especially when it came to dinner. Sitting in front of the TV and watching re-runs of “How I Met Your Mother” was beginning to make me feel pretty damn pathetic.
“Maybe Jimmy can take care of your dumplings.” Corinne snorted and her gaze traveled to my chest. I crossed my arms and huffed.
“Very funny Corey! You’re totally seeing some guy! Whatever happened to ‘Bros before Hoes’, huh?” I used hand motions to emphasize my point.
