"You've heard the stories the same as I have Charlie. If anyone fought back or didn't obey Sirius, he'd torture and then kill them. This girl must have put up a very tough fight."

"When John and I found her in the woods, I thought she was dead, to be honest with you Doc. She had a stab wound to her chest, and I could smell wolf's bane coming from it."

"She was lucky that you found her when you did. Any longer and she would have died where she lay. She's gone through years of abuse. Every bone in her body has been broken repeatedly. I've been a doctor for sixty years, and I've never seen anyone as bad off as she was. Every inch of her skin was covered in scar tissue. If she pulls through, well, she'd be very lucky."

The voices faded and once again I was surrounded by a peaceful silence. I couldn't help but wonder if my family and best friend survived. But seeing as how everyone except for Seth had been a high ranking wolf, the odds of that weren't very good. I was glad that Sirius had finally paid in full for the damage he had caused.

"Are any of the survivors named Seth?" My mind grabbed a hold to that voice. There was silence until someone spoke softly as if they were trying not to wake someone. "I'm not sure Beta. There weren't many male survivors." Fear exploded in my heart. My baby brother didn't deserve to die. It wasn't his fault that he was the way he was. All the blame lay on the shoulders of Sirius.

An alarm rang out and it puzzled me. I thought that death was supposed to be quiet and peaceful. "Calm down. I'll find Seth for you." A voice whispered softly to me as if it was trying to soothe me. "I want you and the men to show her picture to those in the cells. Ask if anyone knows who she is and if the name Seth means anything in relations to her."

"Yes Beta." I don't know how much time had passed after the voices stopped speaking, but I was getting very confused. There was nothing but darkness here. I was dead so why was I hearing things?"The Alpha's set to return Monday Charlie. Have you told him about her?" I think the doctor asked.

"No."

"If she's not showing any signs of waking up from this coma, Beta, by the time he gets back, I'm afraid he might suggest taking her off life support." A loud growl surrounded me. I'm not dead? How am I not dead? Seth couldn't kill me so I had to take it in my own hands to protect him.

The sound of a door slamming into a wall startled me. "Beta! We've found him. The guards placed him in a cell of his own because he'd been wounded..."

"Have they given him medical treatment?"

"No Beta, they haven't. He's not doing too well, but he's awake. Seth said that the girl was his sister. Sirius has been trying to break her for years he claimed, but she wouldn't break. But he found out that her only weakness was her family.

"So he offered her a deal: fight each member of her surviving family to the death, win, and she could go free. She refused. Sirius commanded that her family be the executing squad that carried out her death." Panic set in. Seth was hurt and in danger. I had to get to him. I had to protect him.

I heard more alarms going off as I fought against the hold that the darkness had on me. I forced my eyes open and looked around me. They didn't focus on the three men that stood by the door staring at me shocked and surprised. Slowly I got off the bed and my legs collapsed under me.

A kind looking man rushed towards me, gently picking me up. "Easy there sweetheart. Everything's alright." His voice sounded very familiar. "S-Seth." I whisper, my throat very sore and dry. "Must...see...him."

My eyes pleaded with him to understand. Slowly, he nodded and stood up, still holding me. "Impossible." Someone whispered and I looked up to see the man in a white lab coat shaking his head. The doctor, I thought as the man carried me out of the room.
