Darkness. I'm in an enclosed room where all is covered in a sweet darkness. Nothing but the sounds of old memories can be heard. Laughing, jokes, happy converstaions, but everything is suddenly changed when I hear the laughinng fade away and turn into tears and screaming. The sound of glass being shattered and footsteps running away. Car doors slamming and the engine starting.
I am suddenly able to open my eyes, but when I do black is all I see. Now I can't tell the difference between open eyes and the darkness that surrounds me. I feel the bindings that held my hands and legs break free. A single light began to shine in front of me and I slowly walk towards it. When I stop in front of the light, I look down. Shards of glass lay on the floor, playing different scenes and show pictures. They seem familiar. For no reason at all, I begin to put the glass pieces together.
Once together, the glass formed a slideshow of my own memories. Voices and sounds of sobbing erupted from the glass. Horrific memories replayed in my mind and I backed away from the light.
Behind me there was more glass and I stepped on it, causing my bare feet to bleed. Quickly, I stopped off of it, only to step on more. I crawled on my knees and used my hands to search and find out where the glass was coming from. I continued to search until I came across a cold object. A light turned on and I jumped as soon as I saw the object.
The object was a glass statue of myself, but there only thing missing was a part of my chest where my heart is supposed to be. The statue also had a blue coloured glass under its eyes, what I'm guessing if supposed to represent my tear stained face. I went to move, but ran into a smaller object. It was a dark red-almost black- heart. I tried picking it up, but it was freezing cold and heavy and I accidentlly dropped it. The heat shattered into many pieces, and I felt a sharp pain in my chest.
I looked down and saw that there was blood dripping down my chest and into the glass statute. Tears flooded my eyes and I fell to the floor next to the statue. A dark shadow loomed over my body and spoke.
"Look at your worthless self." I winced at the deep voice, while blood continued to put out of my wound. "Just like your glad self, broken and forgotten by the world." The deep voice chuckled and leaned closer so I could see his face. Sharp yellow teeth and dark purple eyes was all I could see. He stepped on the shattered glass heart next to my face and I felt as if I was being stabbed once again.
"AAAHHHH!!!" I screamed out, making the dark figure laugh.
"Oh my dear, Ally." He whispered in my ear. "Welcome to my world. You now with for me and you shall do as I say." He laughed like a maniac and darkness completely surrounds me.
I wake with a jolt and I quickly sir up in bed. I turn my head furiously looking for the dark figure, only to find my countless band posters and band albums all over my wall and on my book shelves.
I breathe heavily and looked at the time on my phone.
I sighed and got out of bed. I picked out a dark blue long sleeve shirt and black jeans. I go to my dresser and pull out a pair of socks and put them on. After getting everything on I head downstairs.
On the table I noticed that there was a piece of paper from mom.
"Ally, I had to leave early again this morning. I left you a bagel on the counter. Have a good day and I might be late getting home tonight." I spoke aloud and threw down the paper. "Of course you're going to get home late." Walking away from the table, I grab the bagel and shove it in my mouth. I gathered my stuff, put my shoes on, and head out the door.
On the bus, I just listen to music like I always do and forget about the world for a few minutes.
The bus approached my stop and I got off, bracing myself for the hell I was about to enter for what seems like the millionth time. Upon walking through the gates, I keep my head down and say hello to one of my only friends, the ground.
That may seem weird, but it's true. Sometimes you can stare at the ground and you can see little pictures and if you put them together correctly, it becomes a story. One's secret story can reveal more than the eye can see.
I'm a very weird person, I get told that all the time.
But as I walk closer to my biology class, I get an uneasy feeling. Today might be different.... And not in a good way.
