Chapter One

Phil's POV
"Alright everyone, thank you all so much for coming to the live stream tonight. My apologies once again that Dan couldn't make it this time. However, I'll see about next time! Bye!" I give a small wave to the camera then shut down the stream with a sigh, watching the flood of people leaving the chat.
I lean back onto my bed in defeat. Dan has been missing for around a month now leaving no clues as to where he had gone. The only things he'd left behind were a short letter and a USB. I reread the letter in my head for the millionth time while i sit in silence, the only noise the hum of my laptop.

Dear Phil,
Yes i have left, you'll have to deal with that for now. I'm still curious as to why you're keeping things from me, so I'm just going to be blunt about this... Don't expect me back for a while. On this USB there should be about a months worth of videos (2 if you used them sparsely) I'd like you to please put up on my channel for me. Put up only one a day please, I'm not sure when exactly I'll be back. Don't let anyone know I've left, I don't want another reason to be upset with you.
Sincerely,
Dan

My constant questions were now hardly ever about where he'd gone or why he couldn't have put up the videos himself, they were more laced with guilt and sorrow, accompanied by the question of if he left so he could just get away from me for a while.
"This is all my fault... If only I'd just told him," I say aloud to no one in particular.
Dan and I had been getting into arguments a lot before he left, only able to pull on a friendly mask, like everything was fine, when making videos or during a live stream. Our arguments had grown near violent several times, which I step down in fear of being hit by the brunette each time. My voice during those times stayed at a yelling volume, but was quiet compared to Dan's, earning a warning from the owners of the neighbouring flat.
My mind wanders to the promise we'd made when we first started living together. A promise to never lie or keep secrets from each other, of course with a few exceptions. For example, if it had to do with one of our birthdays or a holiday it would count as an exception. However, if it was something like a crush it had to be shared with the other like giddy, secondary school, girls.
I sit back up on the bed before getting to my feet, wandering into the hall and holding my arms like I've gotten a chill. While walking aimlessly I manage to run into the clear glass door to the kitchen.
Bloody hell... I think to myself, rubbing my nose, which had taken the brunt of the impact. I push open the door and walk into the kitchen only to stand there, blankly staring ahead.
