Alexis' stomach twists and turns, as she looks at the blank wall for what felt the millionth time that day. "We need to get out of here." Audrey faintly whispers to Alexis.
"I know, but how?" Alexis whispers back. After saying those few words Alexis burst into tears as she got another memory of her life before all this.
Audrey begins to braid Alexis' light, chocolate colored brittle hair, as it seemed to be the only thing that helped. "Why did this have to happen to us, Audrey?" Questions Alexis, as tears roll down her pale, makeup stained face.
"I don't know," replies Audrey, "but it's our life now and we must accept that. We will get through this together!"
Alexis, not saying a word, slightly nods as she puts her head onto Audrey's shoulder.
At that moment, a loud banging occurred on the wall, accompanied by a man yelling.
"Get down Alexis." whispers Audrey in a very calm voice. The yelling and banging eventually stops, and the girls finally tired.
The light slowly disappears from their small concrete room. "Goodnight Alexis."
"Goodnight Audrey."
Audrey quickly falls asleep, but Alexis lays there for hours.

Audrey wakes up to the sound of Alexis panting. "What's wrong, Lex?" Alexis mumbles under her breath. "What?" Audrey asks.
"The man did it..." Alexis says, barely audible. "The man did it..." Alexis says a little louder.
"I don't understand." Says Audrey, "You're scaring me."
"THE MAN DID IT!" Screams Alexis, as she lunges at Audrey with murder written in her eyes.
