Most girls spend Friday nights hanging out with friends or on dates with gorgeous guys.

Me and my best friend spend ours lounging on a bed with a book, and a tub of ice cream.

That's what I was doing on 1st April, Friday. Curled up on the bed in my pajamas, a book gripped in one hand and the other eating ice cream.

My dream night.

Can I get the descriptions over with? I don't do all these things despite my mom's persistence that I get out of my shell is because me and Rose are special.

We're going to wait for the guy we're meant to be with forever to sweep our feet.

We're not going to fall for any random guy in our school.

See? That's why we're special. We take relationships seriously.

So I was poring over a book- precisely Harry Potter when the phone downstairs rung.

It's echo sounded throughout the house but I ignored it. Somebody else should answer it. I'm too comfortable here.

'Diane!' My mom yelled and I realized it was Rose. Yes, my name is Diane and you can stop smirking now.

I jumped into my Bunny slippers and rushed down the stairs with my freshly washed hair trailing behind me.

I signaled Mom to leave then picking up the receiver said 'Rose!'

'Hey Diane!' She sounded excited for some reason.

'Sup?'

'Reading Deathly Hallows again. My feels are BREAKING!'

'Who told you to read that?'

I smiled sadly. My mother thought I wasn't studying well so she confiscated my books. Not my phone. My BOOKS.

Because I don't use my phone. Much. When no one except your bestie calls u, what to do?

'Only book I've left' I sighed into the phone playing with the wire.

'Hy guess who asked me out?!'

Now okay. I did say we were nerds. But even nerds are asked out. Rarely but it's true.

'Who?' I asked.

'Guess'

'Can't you just tell me?'

'Guesssss!'

'Daniel Sky?'

She laughed 'You're close! It's Jason! His best friend!'

I gaped at the phone. Wait. They're out of our league! They're both superly gorgeous jocks and enormously popular!

They'd never paid us any attention before.

'You're going with him?' I asked.

Me and Diane had already shaken on it not to date any random guy in school. Like the sappy nerds we were, we'd swore to wait for the guys we were meant to be with forever.

'I said I'd think about it' She admitted.

'Couldn't you say no?' I sighed.

'Hey! It's a golden opportunity! I could make him fall for me and then break his heart! In revenge for all the girls whose hearts he broke'

And I grinned. That's evil. I know. You're probably going to think we're psychotic killers. Or one of those evil scientists. Well, thank you but we're perfectly good.

We do all our homework, complete projects in time and never stay out late.

And unlike my younger and older siblings I have never been grounded.

'Thats something to think about' I admitted 'But getting him to fall in love with you? That'll be really hard! You'll have to wear make up and act like a plastic all the time'

Rose signed 'yeah! I suppose. Butttttttt I have an epic idea to discuss with you tomorrow. It's about our love life'

'Which is non-existent' I told her as I watched my younger brother James enter a walkie-talkie in his hand.

'Just listen to me yo. Many guys have asked you out. We'll plan a double date with Jace and Daniel'

I thought about it but spending time with those idiots didn't appeal to me even though it was pure lust for other girls.

'Okay' I told her sighing 'we'll talk about it tomorrow. Okay? See u tomorrow! Oh wait on Monday. Tomorrows a holiday. Bye'

'Bye' she said

And I dropped the phone and went back to my room, listening to James calling his best friend.
