"Katheryn! Katheryn!"
Katy quickly opened her eyes as she heard her mother shouting her name from the corridor. "I'm dead," she gasped.
Before her mother completely eats her way into her room, Katy pulled the pillow under her head and covered her body as a shield. She knew what her mother could do, she needed to protect herself.
Her mother, Mary, loved her so much of all things but whenever she called her Katheryn, it's a different story. She meant danger coming her way.
"Katheryn!" Mary bulged in. "Oh, don't you dare lie to me. Where were you last night?" she asked.
"Hmm," Katy just murmured.
Mary pulled the covers from Katy's head and continued, "What did you do? Do I really have to hear everything from other people? From the ministers?" She stopped to take a second to breathe. Then she said, "Stand up."
Katy didn't hesitate and sat up immediately, wiping her face, she said, "I'm sorry, mom."
"Is that all?" Mary sat down beside Katy. "Katheryn, I don't like to say this, but you're not allowed to go down on Earth for now. I forbid you to. You almost got Jen killed."
"That's an overstatement, mom," Katy reacted.
Mary immediately cut her off, "The ministers will probably issue you a letter of restrain if I let you down to her again tonight. So, this is probably for the best. Andy will be taking in charge of Jen from now on, so you won't have to worry about her. I'll give you some time off to clear your mind and then whenever you're ready, you're free to be assigned to your new subject."
"But, mom, she needs me," Katy explained.
Mary smiled weakly and said, "I know. That's our job."
Jennifer Penelope Andrews, her friends, and family call her Jen, 28 years old, lived in Canada. Jen used to work in a bank as an accountant just a few weeks ago, lived in a great house and owned nice cars with her fiancé, Jacob, ex-fiancé. She used to be a bubbly, generous and kind person, until Jacob cheated on her, what's more devastating, he cheated on Jen with her very own best friend, Laura, they grew up together, studied together, did even the most ridiculous things two friends could ever do together. Well, let's just say that Laura is one pretentious friend, showing a different side of herself whenever she's with her best friend, and forgetting about the fact that she's sleeping with her best friend's boyfriend.
Jen started to drink carelessly, party all night, with nothing to lose. She didn't want to continue her life anymore. Jacob was her best friend too, thinking she would grow old with him. But people change, we wouldn't see it at first that it's for the better, but of course, it is.
Everybody has their own destiny, fate and destination. It's already written. It's never going to be easy to find their own because everything has its own timeline. We could be sad today, but we won't be sure that we're still going to be sad tomorrow. Tomorrow is always another day to start, to look for something that would make us happy and contented. We just have to wait. Everything will come by at your door when the time is right.
But what did Katy have to do with Jen?
Katy guided the people who have lost their fate in God before their destination come. In short, she's an angel for the ones who are about to face their ends or their final destinations. If you started seeing her with your naked eyes, then you're her subject. It's never a pleasant surprise but it's her job. It's their job to make us people make the decision to change before we die, for us to go straight to heaven, giving us the last chance to choose our final path.
Last night, Jen called Katy for help that the latter came down quickly for a rescue. Jen wanted to kill herself again. So, Katy tried to calm her down first then she came up with an idea, it wasn't a great idea but it's a good one, for the moment. They went to a bar. Just the two of them, but physically, it was just Jen, Katy was for moral support. So, they drink and drink until they got wasted. Then Katy decided to go outside the bar for a fresh air, but Jen wanted to stay. Katy went out for about ten minutes, she's an angel, alcohol doesn't affect them that crucial, so she decided to go back inside after minutes of washing the spirit away by jumping and stretching, but the door shockingly opened and spat out Jen, with three hideous drunk men after her.
Jen scoffed, "Leave me alone!"
"Feisty," the man with a smelly beard said.
The second said, "Where are you going, honey bunch? Happy that your boyfriend isn't here?"
"Go to hell, jerks," Jen ignored them and started walking towards Katy just in the corner.
"Language," Katy sternly said.
"Are you seriously scolding me right now?" Jen said when she reached Katy.
Katy helped Jen walking, limping, putting her arms around her. "Yes, I am," she said.
"Babe, don't go. We haven't even started yet!" the third man said.
They followed Jen, the third man, the smallest one, reached and took Jen's arms.
Katy and Jen both turned around and winced.
"Aw!" Katy cried. "Don't you have something else to do, earthlings? Don't make me mad, I'm tired," she said.
Jen chuckled, "My devil wears Prada, guys. I think you made her furious."
"Hey!" Katy said.
"The bitch with her bitchy mouth. I like it," the other guy, with the smelly beard, said, and then he pulled Jen in and started touching her.
"This is not good. This is never going to be good," Katy said, shaking her head slowly. She snapped her finger and pointed it to the smallest guy, then pointed it on the guy who's holding Jen.
The smallest guy punched smelly beard in the face that made Jen screamed in shock.
The other guy punched the smallest in return.
"Oh, come on!" Katy said in disbelief, she reached and put Jen beside her. "You!" she pointed at the smallest to make him stand up and punch the other guy back.
Then they started fighting back with each other.
"Let's go, Katy," Jen pulled Katy.
"Yeah, that's probably for the best," Katy giggled, leaving the scene.
"You're in big trouble," Jen chuckled.
"Yes, I am," Katy said with a hiccup.
Katy liked to say those words, but not this time, she's in big trouble, yes, she was.
