Chapter 5

I laughed. "Ciao, darlings." I waved them goodbye and turned to leave.

"You won't get away with this bitch!" Dr. Henry shouted after me.

Without turning back, I smirked and hollered back at him, "Already have darling!"

Just as I closed the steel door, Dr. Drew's shout resonates throughout the floor. Luckily no one was around. Well, actually it was only Henry and I who know how to enter this floor. Going back to my office was a tiresome task all in itself. It was situated at the most top floor, floor 75AA. Outside my office, I punch in the code and go inside.

It was just after midnight that I was getting sleepy. "Gotta catch up on that beauty sleep Lilith," I murmured to myself while yawning.

"You don't need that doc." I looked up, seeing only dark shadows.

A whiz shudders through the air and pain blooms as it scratched my left forearm. I looked down seeing a thin line of blood and a bright red arrow sticking to the wall behind me.

"Are you cupid?" I sneered. "Come and show yourself, lover-boy."

I looked around my office as I catch the dark corner to the right of my office as a man manifests out of it.

"Hmm..." I looked at him from head to toe. "I always thought cupid would be a baby and shot arrows for love not pain."

The man smirked. "Isn't love just the same as pain?"

I laughed. "And what do you want?"

"You dead," he said dramatically. In that way the voice gets deeper, hands clenching, and you can practically hear the background music when he said it.

I didn't have the time to tease him when he shot another arrow at me. I ducked and hid behind my table. I grabbed the pistol hidden underneath my table and breathed out. Looking down at my watch, I clicked the expertly hidden button to contact Henry in times of trouble. I have 5 minutes until he's here, for the mean time, I just have to distract him without killing me.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy, I thought happily.

"Is this the great Dr. Lilith? A coward?" He called out.

I laughed and stood up from my under my table. "This is nothing great yet, boy." I cocked the gun at him as he did the same with his bow and arrow.

I shot first. Winners usually do, I thought. It hit his left thigh and he fell. I laughed again. "Is this it? One bullet and your down?" I looked at him with disgust pouring out. "At least make this worth while, lover-boy."

He chuckled and shook his head."This is nothing great yet, girl."

"So your copying me now?" I shot again, hitting him on the other thigh.

He looked up and I swear, if he could kill me, he'd do it twice. I smirked and motioned him to stand. "Fight me properly, lover-boy."

On steady legs, he stood up slowly, showing me how unaffected he was with the bullets shot at him. Hmm, high pain tolerance, I thought, let's see where's your limit.

Before he could take another step, my office doors bang open. "Put your weapon down and hands in the air!" Henry shouts with the gun on his hand, pointing at lover-boy.

Shaking his head, he lowers it to the ground and does as what Henry says. "I knew there was nothing great about you doc," lover-boy chuckled as he said this.

Rage flashes through my eyes and I couldn't stop myself as I hit the butt of my pistol to the head of lover-boy, knocking him out. I sighed and looked at Henry. "He hurt me," I told him with a pout.

He laughed and took out hand cuffs and cuffed lover-boy. "Where should I put him?"

"Basement." I smiled. I did still have questions for him to answer.

Henry nodded and looked at my left arm. "You want me to help you with that wound doc?"

I looked down at it, surprising myself that I almost forgot about it. I shook my head and smiled. "Someone else needs your help Henry, not me. I can take care of myself."

Even with what I said, Henry still handed me his crisp white handkerchief. "Still Lilith, I am your assistant."

I took it gratefully and applied pressure on my arm. "Take him to the basement and we might need your specialties again, Henry." I smiled at him and held lover-boy's face.

"I'm eager to take out every secret he has in his head."

So sorry that I didn't upload sooner! I kind of had a writer's block and I didn't know what to write for this chapter! I just hope I didn't disappoint. :)
