Chapter Twenty-Three

Start from the beginning

"Bye bye Alex."

The front door closes telling me that she's gone and my body relaxes. My phone vibrates causing me to look down at the screen to see who it is.

Evie

Any other time I would be happy that she texted but right now I don't want a reminder of what I'm doing to her. I'm going to cause this girl so much hurt and she doesn't even know it. I started to think that I was changing, that maybe I can be a good person. She was my hope. Evangeline gave me hope.

What the hell? Why was I already giving up. I can still make this right. I can still make us both happy.

Standing up from my chair I make my way out the door and walk to my car before getting in.

Looking down at my phone I read the text that she sent me.

'Come out to Westchester I want to see you today'

I smile down at her words and began writing my reply.

'Didn't know the lady was so eager to see me. On my way'

Her comes right before I slide my phone in my pocket.

'You wish'

I pull through the gates of their home and I'm greeted by a women who seems to be a maid as she offers me a drink that's served on a silver platter.

Taking it I notice as her eyes roam over me making me uncomfortable.

"Miss Sharp is expecting you on the patio in the west wing. Let me....show you." She turns her back to me as she starts to walk but makes sure to move hips as she walks. "My name is Lissa by the way."

"Nice to know." I mumble before rolling my eyes.

When my eyes finally land on Evie she's dancing along with Noah.

The music fills the entire area as I walk in but before I can get their attention the maid speaks up.

"Miss Sharp, Mr. Dalloway has arrived."

Turning around swiftly in her yellow dress, she holds it down so it doesn't lift.

"Your here." She smiles before pulling some of her hair behind her ear.

"I am." I try my best to hide a smirk but I'm unsuccessful.

Evangeline's face reddens. "So you saw all that." She's referring to them dancing and I nod.

Looking behind her I acknowledge Noah.

"Nice moves." I tease holding back a laugh.

"Yeah, I know I'm still waiting to be asked to be a background dancer for Brittany Spears." He jokes before sitting down in a chair.

My conversation earlier replays in my head.

I need to tell her before things go bad

"Can we talk?" I ask Evie then look a Noah. "Alone."

Her smile is gone and her eyebrows scrunch in confusion.

"Uhh yeah...sure." I can hear the hesitation in her voice and my heart starts to race.

How am I going to do this?

Grabbing her hand I take up to where I remember where her room is.

We stop in front of her door and I take a deep breathe before opening her door.

"Okay, what's wrong?" Her sudden role of taking action surprises me and for a moment I stubble over my words.

"I..huh." Pûssy. I am such a pûssy.

Get it together, Alex.

Evie rests her hands on her hips as she waits for my answer.

"Nothing."

To say she was surprised is an understatement.

"Nothing?" She doesn't believe me.

I don't blame her I am lying but only because I'm afraid of ruining us. I'm not ready to risk or give up us.

"I had to make up some reason to get you alone." I wrap my arms around her pulling her body close to mine.

She smiles while rolling her eyes causing me to know she believes me. My hand makes its way to the back of her neck pulling her face to mine.

My lips touch her's and soon we're in a heated make out session.

I can't let her destroy this. I can't let her destroy Evie like she plans to. I can't let destroy us.

Now when I think of name I know who she really is and I will stop at nothing stop her.

To stop Kara.

I wanted to write a chapter from Alex's POV cause it's difficult to see what's going through his mind. This is also a filler chapter
