Hope POV
I made it through the first four lessons of school without getting too lost. I was new, still didn't have any friends in my classes and was struggling just a little bit because I had missed a few topics in Maths and so on. Lunch rolled around, and decided to sit with my brother Luke and his friends because I didn't know anyone else. There were 3 of them sat at the table, not includimg Luke. The first one had dyed green hair and an eyebrow piercing and was wearing a flannel shirt and skinny jeans. The second wore a bandana, a white muscle - tee and skinny jeans. The third had dark brown hair, chocolate brown eyes, two tattoos, one on his chest and another on his wrist and was wearing a black muscle - tee and skinny jeans. They smiled at me as I approached.
"Hey Lukey, can I sit with you guys?" I asked nervously, my face going red under the gaze of the brown eyed boy.
"Yeah sure!" Luke replied, and I took a seat next to the one with the bandana.
There was a short silence before Luke spoke up again.
"Well lads, introduce yourself."
"I'm Ashton,"the boy beside me said smiling.
"My names Michael." Said the boy with the green hair.
"I'm Calum.." The last boy said, the one with the chocalte brown eyes. He gave me a warm smile and looked into my eyes. I felt my face flush red.
"I'm Hope." I said quietly.
I sat and chatted with the boys until the bell rang, signifying the end of lunch.
We said our goodbyes and I hurried off to my next class. Thinking all the while about Calum, and if we might see each other again.
Calum POV
"I'm Hope." She said quietly. Beautiful. A lovely name for a lovely girl. We sat and chatted for a while, but I wasn't really listening to anything that was being said. Instead I watched Hope. Her long brown hair cascading in beachy waves over her shoulders and her icey blue eyes shining from behind her long black lashes. Her light freckles scattered over her nose and cheeks and her smile, one that could light up a room, her pearly white teeth sparkling every time she opened her mouth to laugh.
She didn't need the makeup she wore. It was only light, I don't know much about makeup but I think it was just conceler, mascara and lipstick. But even so, she would be just as stunning without it.
My heart sank a little when the bell rang, and it broke a little when we said goodbye and Hope ran off to her next class.
"Earth to Calum! Hello?!" Ashton said suddenly, waving his hand in front of my face.
"Yeah?" I said a little dazed.
Michael smirked. I glared at him furiously. Michael could read my body language better than anyone, and I knew then as his smirk changed to a sheepish grin, that he could read my mind.
As the bell rang at the end of the day I was still trying to figure out what Luke was to Hope. A friend? A boyfriend? They clearly knew each other, but Luke didn't greet her like a boyfriend or brother.
