Calum jumped from the slight buzz in his pocket. He wasn't expecting a text in the middle of history.

***-***-****:

Dear Calum,

Well, I can't make you love me, but I'll try.
Until my dying breath, you'll know I'll try.

He looked at the text, slightly confused as to why this would be sent to him.

"Mr. Hood, if I have to write you up for that stupid device one more time, you'll be put in detention. Now, back to what I was saying, it is not Mt. Everest-"

Calum shut down and began doodling in his notebook, occasionally looking up to make it seem as if he were taking notes.

The strange text soon slipped out of his mind.

---

As Calum began to walk into his neighborhood, he felt like he was being watched. His arms tingled with goosebumps when he turned around to see nothing.

"Who's there?" Calum called out, looking around every corner of the cul-de-sac.

"Boo!" Michael jumped out from a tree. Calum jumped and fell to the ground while he shrieked.

"You're so rude!" Calum held his heart and began to walk to his house.

"Oh come on! That was funny you have to admit it." Michael was still giggling when he walked through the door.

"It was not. You almost gave me a heart attack!" Calum pouted and sat down on the couch with Michael following closely behind.

"Want some pizza and watch Netflix together? I know you like those two things because I'm your best friend and you will always love me!" Michael sang and put his head on Calum's shoulder. The two smiled at each other before playing a movie.

---

Calum's phone buzzed, catching his attention.

"Who is it?" Michael asked.

***-***-****:
Dear Calum,
Leave this blue neighborhood. Never knew loving could hurt this good.

Calum's eyes widened. He tossed Michael his phone and quickly looked outside before shutting the blinds and locking all of the entrances.

"Woah, what's wrong with you?" Michael put his hands onto Calum's shoulders.

"The text. Did you read it? This neighborhood is called Blue Circle! This person is stalking me!" Calum panicked.

"Woah dude. These are lyrics. Y'know. Troye Sivan?" Calum nodded but still felt very scared.

"Maybe it's just someone texting the wrong number." Michael shrugged it off and put Calum's phone on the couch.

"I don't know." Calum looked at the phone number and began to search for the area code.

"This person is from here. They live here! That makes it even easier to kill me!" Calum looked at Michael even more freaked out.

"Calum, don't worry! Remember what happened last time you freaked out? You thought that thing from Jeepers Creepers was going to come and get you." Michael giggles at the thought of a young Calum running from everything and hiding in the corner of his bedroom.

"Oh shut up, that movie was really scary!" Calum breathed in a deep breath feeling a bit better.

"I'm going to leave. Okay? Nothing bad is going to happen to you. I promise." Michael smiled.

As Michael walked to his house, he got a text.

***-***-****:
Dear Michael,
Please come over now and talk me down!

Michael scrunched his eyebrows and looked at the address attached to the text. He quickly realized what the text meant and began to run to the address.

"Breaking news! A boy named Michael Clifford aged nineteen was found dead in front of a thirty story building. Eye witnesses say the boy jumped from the roof and onto the ground. Paramedics are saying he died on impact. We will all keep his friends and families in our prayers." The anchorman broke the news to Calum and his family.

Calum immediately began to cry and shake. His best friend had left him.

"I don't understand, he was so happy. He would never do something like this." Calum cried into his pillow.

***-***-****:
Dear Calum,
Only fools fall.

Calum cried even harder until he had no more tears, no more sobs, nothing. He had nothing.
