“Alex it’s amazing!” I shouted and then hugged him tightly.

“Thank you so much,” I said and took it from him. He put it around my neck.

“As long as you keep it on you’ll always have a part of me with you,” he said and for a second he looked sad. He looked away from me and bit his lip.

“Are you okay Alex?” I asked quietly. He looked like he about to cry. He still managed to smile at me.

“I’m fine,” he mumbled. He smiled again and then he got up and held out his hand.

“Well we better get going. You don’t want to miss your party,” he said and I smiled at him and took his hand.

When he pulled me up, our faces were only inches apart.

I bit my lip and couldn’t help but look down at his lips. They looked so soft…

He leaned in and I did too and before you know his lips were smashed against mine.

“So how’d it go?” Leslie asked and raised her eyebrow at me.  I rolled my eyes.

“Amazing, now come on we should get back inside, Austin’s probably wondering where I am,” I said and tried to pull her back inside the house but she stayed put.

“No wait I have to ask you something. Can you ask Eddie if he likes me?” she pleaded.

“Yes I’ll tell him now let’s go back inside. I want to see Austin,” I said and then we went inside again.

She had managed to pull me out of the party and into the backyard.

I went inside and suddenly loud music blasted through my ears.

I winced and covered my ears as I went to search for Austin.

“Austin!” I yelled. I looked around everywhere but I didn’t see him. He must be in his room.

I walked upstairs and tried to open his door but it was locked. I sighed and knocked on the door.

“Go away,” he said miserably. What’s gotten into him?

“Austin, it’s me, tell me what’s wrong,” I ordered. I heard him sigh and then the door click and then open. I saw Austin and his eyes looked red.

“Austin… what’s wrong?” I asked. I tried to look into his eyes but he avoided my eyes.

“It’s nothing, just go enjoy your party,” he said and gestured for me to leave but I didn’t move.
