Chapter 43 Part 1

We drove in silence the whole time and when we reached the beach, I said bye and hopped out of the car. I looked around but couldn’t find him.

“Ale-?” I asked but I was interrupted.

“BOO!” someone shouted behind me. I screamed and turned around. Alex was standing there.

I put my hand over my heart and glared at him. I punched his arm.

“What was that for?” he pouted and rubbed his arm.

“For scaring the life out of me!” I shouted and laughed too. Maybe Leslie was right. Maybe he would forget about why he was avoiding me and just have fun.

“You look amazing by the way,” he said and stuffed his hands in his pockets. I blushed and looked down.

“Thanks,” I smiled at him.

“So why’d you want to meet up here?” I asked and he smiled big.

“Just follow me ok?” he asked. He took my hand and led me down the sand. I took off my shoes and then I gasped when I saw where he was leading me.

It was a small picnic on the sand with candles around it.

“Alex you go through too much trouble for these dates,” I said and he shook his head.

“Anything for you,” he said and then we sat down.

We both ate and talked and laughed for a while and I have to say it was really fun. I loved being with him.

“So how are you and Sarah getting along?” he asked.

“She’s actually really nice. Like when she was before when we were best friends,” I explained and he nodded.

“So you trust her?”

“No, but I can give her another chance,” I said and he smiled.

“So how did your day shopping go?” he laughed.

“It was horrible. They kept making me try on shoes and made me walk around in them and I fell so many times. I have bruises everywhere!” I complained. He burst out laughing.

“It’s NOT funny!” I shouted and punched his arm again but I ended up laughing too.

Alex got something from the bag. It was a little jewelry box.

“I have a present for you,” he said and I smiled big.

“What is it?” I asked.

“Hold on, be patient,” he chuckled and then he opened the box and I gasped. It was a really pretty heart necklace and on the heart said Olivia + Alex.
