Nights Blade

Prologue

The capital city of The great kingdom of Graci, defenders of the light, and keepers of the truth, rested easily that night. This he streets lighted only by the fires of the watchtowers. Nothing moved except the occasional movement of one of the kingdoms animals. The guards stood alert on the wall prepared for any attack that may happen. They watched the woods meters from the castle walls as a slight motion of the trees alerted their attack. The beast ran out of the woods with a snarl it looked like a mix between a bear and a wolf had come straight from the depths of Hell. It ran on its four paws and stood about five meters tall. It's eyes red like fire. It's fur as dark as the night itself. The creature ran towards the walls as the guards scrambled to stop this assault. Arrows from the wall's archers soaring past the creature occasionally hitting its mark but nothing stopped its movement. The creature reached the walls and lept up climbing the walls with its giant claws. It slashes left and right killing men with each strike. The screams of the wounded fill the air as it continues to ravage the castle's wall. It continues its onslaught until it reaches the west watchtower. There it is met with a warrior clad in full golden armor a two handed great sword in the warriors left hand. The beast growls expecting the warrior to run and scream like the rest of the guards on the wall, but it is met with a unhinging glare from the warrior who doesn't flinch. The beast, surprised, rushes the warrior lunging at the warrior's throat. The warrior with blinding speed moves the great sword in a uppercut that strikes the beasts right shoulder. The beast snarls as he feels the pain of the blade cutting through it's skin. Again fast as lightning the warrior stikes out again with a lunge of his sword to the creatures heart. The creature goes limp falling down, blood seeping from the fatal wounds. With one push the warrior shoved the creature off the wall and back onto the ground. What the warrior and the Kingdom didn't know was that though that evil may have been defeated a new darkness had been born that night.
