Freedom💦

Today me and August were flying down to California to house hunt and visit my best friend Kyndall. I've known August since I was 15 but we didn't start dating until I was 17 years old and graduated. Kyndall hasn't met him yet but I know she'll be geeked because she never shuts up about how fine he is but she's more focused on having babies with her new boyfriend Keenon.

I have never met Keenon but what I hear he was a good fit for Kyn and I support her through that relationship considering her last relationship was hell. She hadn't dated anyone since she was 15 when her boyfriend got gunned down right in front of her. That really broke her and she's never been the same sense then and it's hard to get her to let anyone in.

Right now me and August were getting off of the plane and getting the rental car we rented. I was so jet lagged and didn't wanna do anything but I was determined to go see Kyndall and meet this mystery guy that she won't shut up about.

I got in the passenger seat and let it back and got comfortable. I turned the air on full blast and wrapped up in a blanket then looked at august.

"i go night night babe. Otay?"

"Freedom I don't care, I'll wake you up when we get there."

Kyndall 💚

I was waiting on Freedom and August to make it to the house and I wanted everything to be perfect for them. I hadn't seen my best friend in years and I was geeked to see her. Keenon is supposed to be coming over also and we were just going to have a family dinner and enjoy one another.

I turned the food off and proceeded with setting the table then turning on some chill music. I went upstairs and freshened up then went back downstairs and waited for the doorbell to ring. A few minutes later the door swung open and Keenon walked in.

"oh hey babe"

"whassup ma?"

He came over and pecked my lips and I told him to go freshen up cause we had guest coming over. About 30 minutes later I heard the doorbell ring and I jumped up and sprang to the door, opening it then jumping on Freedom.

"Freedom!"

"oh my gosh, Kyndall!!"

I hugged her for a while then invited them in and showed them around then led them to the kitchen.

"you guys can sit down and get comfortable. Kennon should be downstairs soon so yeah"

As soon as I said that I felt his arms snake around my waist and Freedom's face turned a little red.

Keenon ⛽️

I looked up and saw Freedom and her face was red as fire. I was stuck in the moment but I snapped out of it and kissed Kyndall's head. I sat at the head of the table and joined hands with Kyndall and Freedom for prayer then let go of Kyndall's hand then dropped Freedom's and cleared my throat.

"so August, how long have you known Freedom?"

I glanced at her then looked at August and waiting for him to answer.

"since she was 15 so 6 years. How long have you known Kyndall for?"

"I've known her since 6th grade so 11-12ish. I met her over the summer when she came down here to visit her dad."

I picked my knife up and cut into my enchiladas verdes and looked at Kyndall then at August and Freedom.

I peeped how Keenon and Freedom kept starring at each other and I didn't know why. The whole ordeal threw me off and I didn't know why they were handling each other that way. More than anything, I didn't appreciate it at all.

"Freedom let me talk you you, excuse us please."

I got up and walked outside and leaned on the car and looked up at her for a while. She gave me an awkward smile and looked around.

"What's up ma? why you and Keenon giving off this funny vibe and keep exchanging looks? Every time I look up he's either starring at you or you starring at him. I find it real odd that the first question is when we met and how long I've known you rather than something pertaining to me and not us. So let me know what's up so I'm not sitting here looking dumb and shit."

She sighed and fidgeted with her hair then looked up at me while chewing her lip.

"when I tell you this you can't tell anybody or get mad at me.."

I looked at her confused about what was going to come out of her mouth. My heart was racing in my chest and my brain was all over the place. I was listening to what she said but I couldn't grasp it. I cleared my throat in hopes that it would all go away and just be a dream. She held her head down and sighed deeply.

I didn't know what to say, I was completely speechless at this point. I looked at her and nodded my head before walking back inside and sitting down at the table.

"everything okay?"

I looked at Kyndall and I really wanted to tell her what I was just told and I couldn't hold it in, knowing what I knew.

"No, everything is not okay Kyndall. I appreciate everything and you letting us stay but I refuse to stay here with that foul ass nigga man. What I was just told, was low down and I'm not staying here or letting my girl stay here."

"I already know August.. He told me everything that happened before y'all even planned to come visit.. I know all about what happened but I'm over it."
